Chris Hemsworth Happily Admits Thor Would Lose to This Marvel Hero

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is full of incredibly strong characters, both good and bad. It’s no surprise that fans are always debating who would win in a battle between any two of them.

Fans often debate who would win in a battle between Thor and Scarlet Witch. Recently, Chris Hemsworth shared his opinion on who he believes would come out on top in a fight between his character, Thor, and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.

Chris Hemsworth admits Wanda would win against Thor

While signing autographs for fans, Chris Hemsworth was asked who would win in a fight between Wanda and Thor. He laughed for a moment, then said Wanda would likely win. Many fans online expressed their agreement with his answer.

Elizabeth Olsen has previously stated she thinks her character, Wanda, is more powerful than Thor. During a 2024 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, when asked who the stronger Avenger was, she jokingly answered, “I think I am.”

Elizabeth Olsen, known for playing the Scarlet Witch, suggested Wanda Maximoff might be able to defeat Thor in a fight. Jimmy Kimmel noted Wanda’s powers are even stronger than Thor’s, and she agreed, explaining she believes she could potentially enter his body and use his own abilities against him.

Wanda Maximoff and Thor have both grown much more powerful since they first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But Wanda’s abilities ultimately surpassed Thor’s. While Thor excels at fighting many enemies with his strength, lightning, and combat skills, Wanda’s powers evolved from simply moving objects and controlling minds to being able to reshape reality itself after reaching her full potential. This makes her abilities far more extensive than his.

After studying the Darkhold, her abilities grew significantly. She gained the power to enter and control the dreams of her alternate universe self, change people’s physical forms, redirect other heroes’ powers, and defend against mental attacks.

Interestingly, Wanda Maximoff was the sole Avenger who completely gained the upper hand against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

Thor will be back for the next Avengers movie, titled Doomsday, and he’s likely to become even more powerful. It’s currently unknown when Wanda Maximoff will reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though.
