Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky look every inch the loved-up couple as they celebrate New Year’s Eve on Sydney Harbour with brother Liam

Chris Hemsworth spent New Year’s Day 2026 in Australia with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and brother, Liam Hemsworth.

Celebrities rang in the New Year on a fancy yacht in Sydney Harbour, enjoying a perfect view of the fireworks.

Chris, 42, and Elsa, 49, appeared very much in love in a new set of Instagram photos. The pictures show them cozying up together on the front of a boat, with a beautiful harbor view in the background.

Elsa looked stunning in a close-fitting green crochet dress. The dress flattered her figure and featured a stylish cut-out at the waist.

Chris kept things casual in a white tank top under a black shirt worn with matching trousers.

The effortlessly cool couple were joined by Liam, 35, who struck a pose in an all-black ensemble.

Although Liam Hemsworth’s fiancée, Gabriella Brooks, wasn’t present in the photos and didn’t seem to attend the event, Liam cleverly found a way to include her in a group picture.

The actor smiled brightly, showing off a Harper’s Bazaar magazine with the beautiful model on the cover.

Later that night, photos show Chris and Elsa happily posing with the Harbour Bridge and bursting fireworks in the background.

‘Happy new year,’ Chris’ caption the series of festive photos.

Last month, the Thor star put split rumours to rest after lifting the lid on his marriage to Elsa.

The Australian actor, married to the Spanish actress since December 2010, says the key to their fifteen-year relationship is simply ‘having fun’.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was listening to Jay Shetty’s podcast and Chris just revealed the secret to him and Elsa’s amazing marriage! Apparently, they both are total adventurers at heart, and they make it a priority to really spend time together. It’s so sweet and honestly, it totally makes sense why they’re so perfect for each other! I’m obsessed with them!

He admitted that things get tough when life becomes a constant cycle of work and family responsibilities, and the couple starts to feel disconnected, like they’re just coordinating schedules instead of being a team.

Honestly, seeing them talk about it just gets me! They said that getting away from everything – all the craziness and demands – and just focusing on each other was key. Like, truly making time for just the two of them, creating space to connect. And the cutest part? They said making each other laugh was a huge part of it! It’s just…goals, you know? It’s so clear that’s what built their amazing connection.

Okay, so like, you always see it, right? That initial thing with someone – the chemistry, the pull. But honestly, when it really matters, what lasts isn’t the heat of the moment, it’s being true friends, just genuinely enjoying each other’s company. That’s what I’ve realized, anyway. It’s all about the connection, the companionship… that’s the real stuff.

Even though rumors about their breakup keep circulating, Chris and Elsa recently showed they’re still very much together. They were affectionate with each other at a private showing of Chris’s new Disney+ documentary, A Road Trip to Remember, in November.

At the time, the reunion marked the couple’s first joint red carpet appearance in months.

The actor shared photos on social media with his wife and family, including his parents, Craig, 71, and Leonie, 64.

The Hemsworth family came out in full force, with Chris joined by his brothers Liam and Luke, 45, on the red carpet.
