Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky have the chance to expand their Byron Bay mega-mansion as neighbouring property goes up for sale for $30million

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the opportunity Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky have to expand their estate in Byron Bay is nothing short of extraordinary. With the luxury retreat Ohana, located between their current abode and Seven Mile Beach, boasting an estimated price tag of up to $34 million, it’s a dream come true for any high-profile couple seeking a serene paradise.

As an ardent admirer of the Hemsworth-Pataky clan, hearing about their potential expansion of their stunning Byron Bay property on the ‘Golden Grid’ has me absolutely thrilled! Can you imagine the breathtaking beauty they will be adding to this already picturesque locale?

The neighboring property, spanning approximately nine hectares, next to their $50 million mansion is currently up for sale, without revealing the asking price.

But real estate insiders have estimated the luxury retreat could fetch as much as $34million.

Yet, it was reported in The Daily Telegraph on Sunday that the Hemsworth family has shown no effort in disclosing their interests regarding the grand estate.

In 2011, the site was sold at auction for $6.3 million. Back in 1983, Australian comedy icon Paul Hogan and a few partners created headlines when they bought the old banana plantation for just $265,000.

The property is currently under the ownership of oil and gas tycoon Russell Staley and his spouse Jennifer. They began constructing the present estate on the site back in 2014.

The property, called Ohana, is situated in the Byron Bay hinterland, specifically at Broken Head. It lies nestled, with the Hemsworth residence to one side and Seven Mile Beach on the other.

Nestled amidst lush wilderness, the architect has cleverly crafted a home that extends towards a breathtaking 450-meter stretch of coastline. This magnificent abode features several pavilions capable of accommodating up to 28 guests.

The entire resort-style property features interconnected areas, such as a kids’ play area and an entertainment platform, all accessible through sheltered walkways.

Notable features encompass a boundless swimming pool, a tennis court, an open-air fitness area, and a tranquil spot designed for yoga and meditation sessions.

Other features include a skate park and a basketball court.

There’s also accommodation for a live-in manager which has a separate entrance.

Based on local real estate professionals’ predictions, the property is projected to surpass Byron’s previous sale record of $33.65 million.

Another luxury spread in nearby Bangalow has been listed with a price guide of $37million.

More recently, Shaun Wilson, the proprietor of Bondi Sands, spent a sum of $8 million to reside in a property adjacent to Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky.

The man who started a tanning company with Blair James has used part of his generous income to buy a grand mansion in Byron Bay.

Shaun along with his fiancée, Tess Shanahan, purchased a six-bedroom house, known as Byron Bay’s ‘Golden Grid’, according to realestate.com.au in June.

In the same neighborhood, the couple can expect high-profile neighbors since Chris, a renowned actor, along with his spouse Elsa and his sibling Liam Hemsworth, each possess luxury homes worth millions of dollars.

Shaun’s recently acquired high-end residence, valued at approximately 8.26 million dollars, stands majestically on a raised 1010 square meter plot. Its sleek design boasts a contemporary facade adorned with a spacious colonnaded veranda.

In a casual and clear manner: Australian actor Chris and his spouse Elsa reside in a spacious Balinese-inspired home with their three kids, located in the picturesque town of Byron Bay. They purchased this property back in 2014 for approximately $7 million.

I, too, have chosen to tread the path laid by my brother Liam. In the year 2021, I made the significant investment of $6.8 million to acquire 37 hectares in the picturesque locale of Byron Bay. And now, with ambitious aspirations, I’ve set forth plans to erect a grand mansion on this site, envisioning a total cost of approximately $14.6 million.
