Chris Brown tries desperately to hide his face as he returns for show in Manchester a month after being arrested in the city over alleged nightclub bottle attack
On Sunday, Chris Brown took significant measures to conceal his identity upon his return to Manchester for a performance, about a month following his arrest there concerning allegations of a bottle attack at a nightclub.
36-year-old hip-hop artist, having been granted a £5 million bond, was guarded by employees as they hid him behind a sizable white screen upon departing from the luxurious Lowry Hotel, where he had been held by police around dawn on May 15th.
In a casual outfit consisting of a graphic T-shirt, beanie hat, and diamond earrings, Chris stayed dry under an umbrella, preparing for his upcoming performance at the Co-Op Live Arena, which was only a few hours away.
In February 2023, the individual known for creating hits was accused of inflicting severe physical injury on music producer Abe Diaw, during an alleged attack at The Tape club in Mayfair. This case will be heard in a Manchester court on Friday.
Right after I stepped out of prison’s bars last month, I took to Instagram to share my excitement with my 144 million followers: “From confinement to performance!”, using the hashtag for my upcoming tour, #Breezybowl.

As a lifestyle expert, I found myself in a unique situation where my passport was temporarily managed by legal professionals and law enforcement officers. This was part of an agreement that enabled me to meet my commitments for tour dates across Europe, the United States, and Canada when it was required. The court was informed about this arrangement.
Under the terms of his bail, it requires him to live at a specific address within the United Kingdom, and he is allowed to use his passport solely for the purpose of traveling on a scheduled tour date, as stated by Heidi Stonecliffe KC during the prosecution.
Stonecliffe informed Southwark Crown Court that the police were keeping his passport until his scheduled international trips, after which a solicitor from Hickman & Rose would retrieve it and then give it back to him for his upcoming trip to the U.S.
As a diligent follower, I’m sharing that the passport will be handed over to an attorney based in the United States, specifically Mr. Matthew Cayman. I’ve verified his existence, ensuring he is indeed a real person.
From now until August, the possession of [the item or passport] will be with Mr. Cayman. After that, Mr. Brown is scheduled to travel to Canada. Once he returns from his trip, Mr. Cayman will have it during his US tour. Later, upon returning to the UK, Mr. Brown’s passport will be in the hands of a solicitor.
‘What we then propose is that we have a further case management hearing on October 24.’
Another set of bail requirements is to avoid visiting the Tape nightclub, communicating with the co-defendant Omolulu Akinlolu (aged 38), the accuser, the victim, or any potential witnesses.
Prior to accepting the terms, Tony Baumgartner expressed a need for additional details concerning Chris’s total assets.

His worry is that the defendant might leave the area of jurisdiction and later return.
I’m unsure about the defendant’s total assets and whether their security covers that amount.
‘It might be a lot of money to him or not a lot of money to him.’
During a pause in the proceedings, Sallie Bennett-Jenkins KC stated that she had been stirring many people on the western coast of America, with the aim of determining Brown’s total assets.
According to reports, it’s alleged that Brown attacked music producer Mr. Diaw without provocation while they were all present at a club event known as ‘Dirty Martini’, where Brown was also present with his group.
Earlier, the producer claimed that Chris attacked him by repeatedly striking him on the head with a bottle, two to three times, followed by punching and kicking him while he was down on the ground.
Previously, prosecutor Hannah Nicholls informed the Manchester Magistrates’ Court that the event in question was a highly severe assault, as it had been recorded on surveillance cameras.
She said Mr Diaw was ‘struck with a bottle several times’ and ‘punched and kicked repeatedly’.
Prior to the recent court hearing, Adele Kelly, the deputy chief prosecutor for CPS London North, announced: ‘We have given permission to the Metropolitan Police to accuse Chris Brown of one charge of severe physical harm, which contradicts section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act from 1861.’
The reported event took place in London on February 19, 2023. His initial court hearing is scheduled for this coming Friday, May 16, at the Magistrates’ Court in Manchester.

It’s important to note that the case against this defendant is still ongoing, and he has the legal right to a fair hearing throughout the proceedings.

Prior to the arrest, a representative from the Metropolitan Police stated: “On Thursday, May 15, around 2am, a 36-year-old individual was apprehended at a hotel in Manchester under the suspicion of inflicting serious physical injury.
He is currently being held in custody following his arrest. This arrest is connected to an occurrence that took place at a location in Hanover Square on the 19th of February, 2023.
‘The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.’
It was initially understood that the arrest had been made by the Metropolitan Police.
A Greater Manchester Police representative explained that they apprehended a 36-year-old individual at a Manchester hotel this morning (Thursday), for allegedly causing serious physical injury, on behalf of the Metropolitan Police.
At a tender age, Chris gained widespread recognition through his soulful R&B tunes and subsequent ventures into rap. Furthermore, he garnered attention off the stage due to his high-profile romance with another prominent singer in the music industry, Rihanna.
Since 2005, when he first dropped his debut album titled “Chris Brown,” he’s gone on to produce an additional ten studio albums and a whopping 64 singles.
Among his most popular songs are “Run It!”, “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)”, and the duet “No Air” with Jordin Sparks.
Chris will next appear in court on June 20, alongside American co-defendant, Akinlolu.
A case management hearing has been set for October 24.
