Chris Brown confirms green light on tour after posting $6.7-million bail in U.K. assault case
Chris Brown is about to go, in his own words, “from cage to stage.”
As a passionate film lover, I’m thrilled to share that the enigmatic R&B sensation has made it official through an Instagram post – he’s pressing ahead with his Breezy Bowl tour next month! The uncertainty surrounding the tour was understandably high following his arrest in Manchester, England last week. But here’s the good news: the “Kiss Kiss” maestro walked out of a Salford jail on Wednesday, secured by an impressive $6.7-million bond.

Chris Brown is staying in London until mid-June because he’s being investigated for an alleged assault involving a tequila bottle. Since his tour starts on June 8, he must stay put until his next court date.
In a court hearing, Judge Tony Baumgartner at Southwark Crown Court indicated that the Grammy-winning artist is permitted to commence his tour starting June 8 in Amsterdam, with multiple stops in the UK, including three performances in Manchester. However, since Brown was absent, the judge mandated him to meet the bail conditions to ensure his future court appearances.
Before the court hearing on Wednesday, a judge in Britain refused the bail application of a 36-year-old musician, requiring him to stay in detention in London until a hearing on June 13. This schedule would have clashed with the initial performances of his tour.
On May 15, Brown was taken into custody at a hotel in Manchester, under suspicion for inflicting serious physical harm. This accusation originates from an incident that occurred in Hanover Square back in February 2023. The police verified this information to The Times last week, without providing further details about the arrest, such as the specifics of the central event. However, the charge seems to align with allegations made against Brown in a civil lawsuit filed by a music producer in October 2023, within the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Music producer Amadou “Abe” Diaw filed a lawsuit against Brown, alleging assault, battery, and intentional emotional distress. According to court documents, the singer is said to have violently attacked Diaw by striking him repeatedly over the head with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 Tequila at Tape London, a nightclub, on February 19, 2023. Further, it is claimed that Brown continued to brutally kick Diaw after he had fallen unconscious on the club floor following the attack.

Rap artist Rod Wave was taken into custody under suspicion for over a dozen offenses, such as carrying firearms and assault. However, his legal representatives have labeled the assault charge as ‘hard to understand.’
In addition to Diaw’s main defendant, the lawsuit also involves Live Nation, Sony, RCA Records, and artist Omololu Akinlolu (known as HoodyBaby). According to the complaint filed by Diaw, not only did Akinlolu participate in the attack on him during the 2023 incident, but he also kicked him in his stomach and legs alongside Brown.
Over the weekend, Akinlolu was accused of inflicting severe physical injury, related to the incident that occurred in 2023. Neither of the musicians involved in this U.K. case have entered a plea as of yet. Both parties are required to appear back in court on June 20th.
