Chloe Goodman reveals the ‘hardest’ point in her relationship with Grant Hall and how the footballer was her rock during postnatal depression battle

Chloe Goodman reveals the 'hardest' point in her relationship with Grant Hall and how the footballer was her rock during postnatal depression battle

As I delve deeper into this captivating narrative, it becomes increasingly evident that Chloe Goodman is not your typical reality TV star. With a mindset focused on education and career development, she stands as an inspiring figure who defies stereotypes. Her life experiences have shaped her into a resilient individual who refuses to conform to societal expectations.

Chloe Goodman disclosed that her spouse, Grant Hall, played a significant role in helping her conquer her struggle with postnatal depression.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share this exhilarating news! This charismatic reality star, who just turned 31, is not only a captivating figure on screen, but also a loving parent to my heart’s delight – Isla, a 4-year-old princess, and Hudson, a 2-year-old prince. The magical bond between them was sealed in an enchanting ceremony held in the breathtaking landscapes of Portugal back in June. They say love makes the world go round, and watching this couple tie the knot has made my heart skip a beat!

At her residence in East Sussex, the freshly married woman candidly discussed her romantic journey with the Swindon Town central defender, sharing both the triumphs and tribulations they experienced together.

Chloe elaborated: The most challenging phase in our relationship occurred when he departed from QPR, holding the Captain position.

‘We had Isla and he got a new contract with Middlesbrough, which was a seven hour drive away. Isla was three months old and I was driving up every other week to him.’

As a newly minted mom, I found myself adrift in uncharted waters. Grant, he was my beacon, my rock. He stood by me during those dark days of postnatal depression, offering a guiding hand and unwavering support when I needed it most. Simply put, he was nothing short of phenomenal, fantastic.

‘So that was probably the hardest time. I remember constantly stopping on the motorway.

‘I had our three dogs in the car and Isla and constantly having to pull over and breastfeed.

After reaching the weaning phase, I found myself frequently changing diapers at rest areas along highways, making my life feel like a never-ending journey on a highway.

As their family adjusts to a fresh routine, Chloe mentioned that due to Grant growing up, she often ponders that he may continue playing until he is around 35 or 38 years old.

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself prioritizing closeness with loved ones, especially during these times. Solitude and distance can take a toll on one’s mental wellbeing, so it’s crucial that we foster connections with our family.

Following our agreement with Middlesbrough, we had a discussion, and it was around the time when we welcomed Hudson into our family. Grant expressed his intention of finding a club where he would feel more comfortable, stating that he would make every effort to achieve this goal.

At present, his work location is at home, but if necessary, he’ll reside in hotels close to the training facility. We’re figuring out the specifics. Things are going smoothly. We’re very content with how things are turning out.

Currently, Chloe is devoting her time to life as a newlywed, yet she acknowledged that, following their four-year engagement, it requires some getting used to referring to Grant as ‘my husband.’

She admitted, “Despite repeatedly referring to him as my future spouse, our relationship status hasn’t shifted. In fact, if I may say so, we seem to be even happier and more laid-back than before.”

Assuring everyone that nothing worries her, she playfully remarked: “Being a family and being married to him, he’s stuck with us now – there’s no escape!”

Regardless of the jest she made, Chloe doesn’t worry that Grant will conform to the typical footballer image and become embroiled in a scandal.

She’s had a direct experience because her older sibling is Lauryn Goodman, who has fathered not just one, but two children while being in a relationship with the married football player, Kyle Walker, from Manchester City.

Chloe explained: ‘Grant’s never been like that. He’s never been the drinking guy.

If it weren’t for him buying the house right next to my father’s place, I might never have crossed paths with him. You see, we shared a circle of friends, but I had never encountered him before due to his preference for solitude. He’s not one for socializing; he prefers to keep to himself.

‘He knows footballers but his friends are people from school that he’s known his whole life.’

Chloe continued, “Today is supposed to be his day of rest, but instead, he’s heading to a cryochamber for recovery and then visiting a chiropractor. It seems like every day for him is about football, as he’s always engaged in some football-related activity!”

‘His main focus is recovery, nutrition and performance. It’s a case of prolonging his career and his fitness, making sure he’s looking after himself.

That lifestyle we follow doesn’t mix well with alcohol and partying. Since he always stays home, there’s never been a need for me to worry about him going out.

“In my younger years, I used to go out and party, but now that I have children, the after-effects of such nights aren’t worth the fun anymore!”

Chloe knows not to be sucked in by stereotypes having herself been judged without reason.

She pondered, ‘Others seem to think I’m snobbish and obsessed with wealth, but if a football player marries someone who is very stylish, they assume she’s just after his money.’

If a person marries someone they have known all their lives, the common response seems to be, “He might find someone even more suitable than her.” It appears that such situations are often deemed as unsatisfactory.

I believe things have shifted significantly, and women these days tend to be more self-reliant. They aspire to build their own professional paths.

They desire to establish something unique for themselves, maintaining a distinct identity separate from their romantic partners. Previously, their relationship status often centered around who they were seeing romantically.

‘Now in our generation, both parents work. I think I’d have been stupid if I ever didn’t work.’

Besides her job, Chloe is also pursuing a three-year adult nursing program. Her goal is to become a qualified advanced nurse practitioner, allowing her to expand the range of services available at her aesthetics clinic, Opiah.

Yet this comes with its own set of challenges, and she confessed: ‘I was a little bit embarrassed about going back to school. Everyone’s 20-odd, fresh out of college.

However, it occurred to me that the real source of embarrassment lies in failing to pursue your own desires and allowing others to hinder you in life.

‘So I might be the oldest one at uni, might be the oldest one in my class, but that’s fine.

Before, my busy modeling career and subsequent stint on reality TV, as well as raising children, left me without the opportunity. However, now, I have a desire to return to university and continue my education.

‘I don’t live my life on the terms of other people. I do what suits me and my family.’
