I’m so excited! ChillyRoom just released a new game called Soul Knight Defense in early access for Android – but it’s only available in certain regions right now. It’s part of the Soul Knight world that I already love, but this time it’s a tower defense game instead of a dungeon crawler. It still has that awesome pixel art and all the characters we know, which is fantastic, but it’s all about building defenses and strategy now!
Soul Knight Defense is the newest game in the popular Soul Knight series, following the roguelike RPGs Soul Knight and Soul Knight Prequel. It’s a relaxed, pixel-art game that combines tower defense with roguelike elements. You collect knights and work together to fight off waves of enemies.
Soul Knight Defense brings tower defense gameplay to ChillyRoom’s hit universe
Every playthrough feels fresh thanks to changing levels, enemy behavior, and the chance to try out new character builds. The game lets you mix and match classes, weapons, and abilities to design a unique team.
The game welcomes back beloved characters from the original Soul Knight, while introducing exciting new combat with spectacular effects and hordes of enemies. Players can explore over 18 distinct maps containing hundreds of levels, and face off against more than 70 challenging bosses.
As you fight, you’ll need to change how you play based on the enemies you’re up against – whether that means dealing consistent damage, using powerful bursts, or focusing on defense. When you defeat a boss, it joins your side and helps you fight off future attacks, making your team even stronger.
When you’re not in combat, you can go back to your Knight Home – your personal base where you can build and decorate. Customize it with furniture, unlock improvements, and create a space that’s uniquely yours, all while earning rewards that will help you in future fights. You can even earn rewards passively, even when you’re not actively playing!
So, the Android version right now is basically a paid beta – you have to pay to get in, and it’s only available in certain areas. But the good news is, ChillyRoom has promised that if you buy anything while it’s in beta, they’ll give you the equivalent amount back as in-game stuff when the game officially launches! That’s a relief, because I was worried about wasting money if something went wrong during testing.
If you’re in Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Macau and use an Android phone, you can download the game from the Google Play Store. We don’t have information yet about when the game will be available on iPhones or for players outside of these regions.
