Chicken heiress Jess Ingham breaks silence on split from husband Roger Zraika as she ditches her wedding ring and ‘he moves on with a prominent woman’

Jessica Ingham, whose family owns the Ingham’s Chicken company, has spoken out for the first time since her separation from her husband, Roger Zraika. The news comes amid reports that Zraika has already begun a relationship with a well-known woman in Sydney.

The 36-year-old, who hasn’t publicly spoken about her recent divorce, seemed to hint at the split in an Instagram post on Wednesday that has since been removed.

The socialite, who has been married twice, shared an update about her progress in moving forward and emphasized how much she values her friends, calling them her closest companions.

The 1996 comedy film, starring Goldie Hawn, is about three divorced women around the same age who become friends and team up to playfully get back at their former husbands.

Similar to what happened in the film, Jessica received support a few days later when photos surfaced of her with her publicist, Theana Spartalis, in Woolloomooloo on Saturday.

Despite losing her $40,000 wedding ring, the granddaughter of the late Jack Ingham—a well-known figure in the poultry and horse racing worlds—tried to stay positive while getting coffee and taking a walk with a friend named Theana.

She looked stylish and put-together, but also a little quiet or downcast, wearing a black parka, a T-shirt, shorts, sneakers, and high-end sunglasses.

Despite the rumors that her husband is dating someone else, Jess was even able to smile and laugh while talking to a friend – which was really impressive considering the circumstances.

According to a Daily Mail report by Lucy Manly on Friday, Roger – who has a two-year-old son with Jess – is now dating a prominent local figure from a well-known family.

The woman has been deliberately keeping her relationship with Roger private. She even hired a lawyer to address questions about their romance and safeguard her image.

Rumors started circulating that Jess and Roger were having problems after Jess didn’t mention her husband on social media for Father’s Day.

Two sources later confirmed to the Daily Mail that the pair had ‘amicably separated’.

Jess has since wiped almost all traces of her ex from social media. 

The breakup ended another highly publicized relationship for Jessica, whose romantic life has always been a source of interest for Sydney’s social scene.

The pair wed in typically extravagant fashion in 2021, after four years of dating.

It was such a beautiful sight – the bride and her daughter both looked incredible in matching Vera Wang dresses! The ceremony itself was held at the gorgeous The Mint on Macquarie Street, and afterwards, we all celebrated with a fantastic dinner party at Merivale’s Establishment, with plenty of champagne flowing, of course. Roger proposed to Jess at her beautiful waterfront apartment, filling the space with 1,200 red roses, a ‘Marry Me’ sign, and heart-shaped balloons.

He got down on one knee and proposed with a $40,000 diamond ring, created by celebrity jeweler Nicholas Haywood.

Even Jess’s little girl from her previous marriage received a matching miniature ring.

This was Jess’s second marriage. Her first, to Alex Macris, had been an even grander affair.

The lavish 2013 wedding, inspired by The Great Gatsby, is said to have cost over half a million dollars. It took place in a secure, elaborate tent set up on Bennelong Lawn, close to the Sydney Opera House, and included 45 crystal chandeliers and a spectacular fireworks show over the harbor.

The Macris family is well-known, and unfortunately associated with some controversy. Alex Macris’s brother, John, who was portrayed in the media as being involved in organized crime, was fatally shot in Athens in 2018.

Even with all the family conflicts, the Inghams are still known for their wealth, their involvement in horse racing, and their established social status.

In the 1950s, Jack and Bob Ingham started a poultry business that grew to become Australia’s leading chicken producer. They sold the company in 2013 for approximately $1 billion.

The brothers were also successful in horse racing, breeding award-winning horses like Octagonal and Lonhro, and generously giving millions of dollars to charitable causes.

Jessica’s mother, Sue Ingham, has recently been in the news because of some changes she’s made with her properties.

Last year, a wealthy socialite sold her luxurious home in Darling Point for $18 million.

She ‘downsized’ to a $12.5million four-bedroom apartment in Double Bay’s Encore Residences.
