Chicago Fire Star Jake Lockett Marries Amid Uncertainty Over His Future on the Show
Actor Jake Lockett, known for his role as Sam Carver in the popular TV series “One Chicago,” has gotten married, yet there’s uncertainty about his future on the show. Over the course of the series, Sam has garnered a loyal fanbase and his developing will-they-won’t-they romance with paramedic Violet Mikami is one of its most beloved aspects.
Contrary to initial impressions, it appeared as though Sam was set to depart from the Chicago Fire series at the end of season 13 finale following his request to transfer to Denver. However, recent news indicates that his character might not be saying goodbye just yet. With filming for the upcoming season already in progress, it seems that Lockett has been making significant advances in his personal life.
In a heartwarming Hawaiian setting, Lockett exchanged vows with Dominique Domingo, his beloved actress partner, in a private ceremony that incorporated both water and earth elements. The unique event took place at the breathtaking Kalihiwai Falls, with their parents as the only attendees, who happened to meet on that special day.
What This Means For Lockett’s Chicago Fire Future
Lockett Seems Pretty Relaxed Whatever Decision Has Been Made
It appears that Lockett’s wedding was a truly enchanting affair, and given that he has managed to jet off to Hawaii for the nuptials, it seems he isn’t overwhelmed with filming duties for Chicago Fire season 14. However, despite indications pointing towards his departure from the show, an update from showrunner Andrea Newman hints at his potential continuation.
In an interview with NBC Insider (as reported by ScreenRant), Newman hinted that Sam might appear in Chicago Fire next season, although potentially with a less prominent role. Her remarks neither guarantee nor deny Lockett’s continued presence on the show. You can find her comments here: [Insert Link]
It’s possible that Carver won’t be with us permanently next season, but he might still be here for a significant part of it. I believe there are many aspects yet to be explored in their relationship [between Violet and Carver].
Regarding Sam’s fate and his role on the show, it appears that Lockett is content either way and is concentrating on other positive aspects in his life, such as his decision to marry.
Our Take On Whether Sam Will Be Back For Chicago Fire Season 14
He Could Return, But In A Reduced Capacity
It appears that Newman’s remarks imply that Lockett may not have a regular role in Chicago Fire during the upcoming season, but he could still contribute in some capacity. According to her, there are several matters needing resolution between Sam and Violet, and it’s possible that he might opt against leaving.
It seems quite evident that Newman believes there is more to Sam Carver’s story left to unfold, and it appears possible that his departure from Chicago Fire might not be permanent. Instead, we may expect him to return in a less regular role. Lockett could reappear in multiple episodes (recurring role), or perhaps just for a single episode (guest starring). In any case, I don’t think Sam Carver has said goodbye to Chicago Fire forever.
