Chet Hanks Stuns Fans with Wild Couch Jump on Talk Show Debut After Netflix Success!
In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share an amusing incident that unfolded during my debut appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show the other day. Chet Hanks managed to bring the house down with his humor!
Actor from the show “Shameless,” aged 34 (son of well-known Hollywood celebrities Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson), entered the stage, took a seat beside the host at the start of the interview.
He then excitedly expressed, ‘Before we get started, this is my first time on a talk show ever.’
Upon hearing the latest tidings, I found myself taken aback, my countenance reflecting surprise. Then, addressing Drew directly, I ventured to ask if I might be allowed to carry out an action I had long yearned to perform.
Tom, much like he did on The Oprah Winfrey Show two decades ago in 2005, gradually rose up and subsequently leaped onto the couch before exuberantly raising his arms towards the sky.
In a swift moment, the actress from Never Been Kissed readily grasped the implication, as her and the audience burst out in applause and laughter.

Then, he jumped down and knelt on a single knee, continuing to gesture enthusiastically with his arms. Afterward, he sprinted towards Barrymore and slapped five with her in celebration.
He posed a question to the crowd, “Do you understand the allusion I’m making?” The host responded swiftly, “Wow, that’s Tom Cruise!
Back in 2005, as I was navigating my career and personal life, I found myself in a special moment with the remarkable actress, Katie Holmes. During an interview on Oprah, I shared my heartfelt feelings for her, expressing my deep affection for this extraordinary woman.
The TV host inquired, “What led you to do that?” referring to Cruise leaping onto the couch. To which he responded, “I am infatuated!” or simply, “I’m smitten!
In his recent interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Chet shared about his complete abstinence from alcohol and acknowledged the crucial role his loving parents have played in his personal journey.
During the interview, the TV personality mentioned that it’s been nearly three and a half years since he last consumed any alcohol.
Additionally, Chet mentioned that his parents, Tom and Rita Wilson, have been incredibly encouraging towards him, and he never forgets to appreciate this support. The crowd in attendance enthusiastically cheered him on.
As a truly devoted child, I can’t express enough gratitude towards my incredible parents. At this stage in life, I find myself deeply appreciative of their unwavering presence. The moments we’ve shared together hold immense value to me, and I cherish each one dearly. They’ve been by my side through every challenge and triumph, proving time and again that they are the pillars of my life.

He went on saying, “I can’t express enough gratitude for the place I find myself, for us being here together, for all the positive aspects of my existence, for the wonderful individuals who enrich my life, including my relationships and those I hold dear.
As an ardent enthusiast, I’ve reached a stage where it’s crystal clear that those key aspects are absolutely paramount, and anything beyond them is merely an added advantage.
Drew also stated that she has been sober for ‘five years’ and referenced to alcohol as ‘poison.’
Afterwards, she shared, “I received tremendous backing from my friends as well. To be honest, there are moments when I can hardly fathom why they never abandoned me or left my side. I am equally puzzled by their persistence in staying with me for such a prolonged period.
They trusted that eventually I would arrive at my destination, but what I discovered in the process is that no matter if they’re related by blood or not, family members can make you feel self-conscious when you’re falling short, and incredibly proud when you succeed.
Chet concurred, expressing that it often leads to a sense of embarrassment when one makes mistakes.
When you’re acting righteously, you increase the pride felt by those you love. It seems quite normal for this to occur, particularly within families.
In July of last year, Chet talked openly about his previous struggle with cocaine addiction and how it impacted his family, during a guest spot on Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk podcast.

The Project X actor admitted, “I used to be a heavy cocaine user, plain and simple. I’m not anymore, but that was my preferred drug – cocaine, much like Tony Montana’s character in Scarface,” referencing Al Pacino’s iconic role.
You seem to say, “I’m aware this person is addicted to cocaine, but I still want a small taste. I would join those who use cocaine, and they would advise me to calm down and wait for about 15 minutes. Yet, I couldn’t resist the allure of that substance.
Regarding his previous struggle with addiction, the celebrity expressed, “It’s dreadful. It consumes you relentlessly. You essentially lose your ability to eat or rest.
In my teenage years, I remember vividly when my parents took action by holding an intervention and subsequently enrolled me at a wilderness camp back in 2008.
For my entire life, I was an exceptional, guileless child. But one day, I took a significant stride, and it felt as if I had said, ‘Oh my goodness!’ or ‘I can’t believe it,’ because I couldn’t recognize the adult I had become.
Chet went on to say, ‘I used to smoke marijuana, drink alcohol, and engage in foolish activities quite often. Yet, the sudden shift in this pattern seemed troubling.’
Back when I was only sixteen, my world got a little blurry due to the struggles with substance abuse that ensued. Fast forward to 2015, and I found myself checking into rehab – a decision that was crucial for my journey towards recovery.
During a broadcast of Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets on MTV from last year, he was able to mark two years without alcohol use.

Two years back, I had just concluded a three-day stretch without food, rest, or significant hydration, due to my use of cocaine, as he admitted then.
Upon arriving in Las Vegas, I tipped the scales at 190 pounds. By the trip’s conclusion, I had shed that weight down to 163 pounds, amounting to a loss of 27 pounds over just three days. This rapid weight loss indicates quite a formidable health challenge. It’s far from appealing.
The actor reminisced, saying, “Immediately after leaving Vegas, I found myself admitted to a rehabilitation center once more. Now, here I stand at the age of 31, penniless, exhausted, drained, emaciated – essentially hitting my lowest point.
It struck me strongly that unless I significantly alter my life, there’s a good chance I won’t survive, or else something incredibly harmful is imminent, making my life feel like it’s already over.
Tom Hanks’ son has been staying active with his new sports comedy series, “Running Point,” that debuted on Netflix a month ago, on February 27th.
Right beside the charismatic Chet, we’ve got a star-studded lineup that leaves me utterly thrilled! It’s none other than the radiant Kate Hudson, the captivating Brenda Song, the enigmatic Justin Theroux, the hilarious Drew Tarver, the versatile Scott MacArthur, and last but certainly not least, the brilliant Max Greenfield. I can hardly contain my excitement as I prepare to witness their incredible talents on screen!
Initially disregarded throughout her life, Isla Gordon Hudson finds herself in the position of President for the LA Waves basketball team, a family-owned business. Determined to demonstrate that she is indeed the best candidate for the job, she faces criticism head-on.
In the series, Chet stepped into the shoes of professional basketball player Travis Bugg; this month, it was announced that the show will continue for a second season.
In my preparation for my role, I enlisted the help of a personal basketball coach and integrated this new practice into my existing fitness routine, as shared with Men’s Health this month.
He quickly went over the fundamental exercises, such as basketball-related drills that most athletes should recognize.

The actor similarly discussed his transparency regarding his sobriety and shared with the media, “Discussing this isn’t challenging for me, as many people grapple with addiction.
It’s possible they may find it hard to acknowledge this to themselves. Perhaps they’ve become a bit stagnant. If sharing my experience can inspire them to overcome their own obstacles, that means a great deal to me.
Regarding his focus on improving mental health alongside his recovery process, Chet stated, “In essence, abstaining from alcohol or drugs is one of the most significant steps one can take for mental wellness.
If you have a tendency towards addiction, it seems to me that it might be the initial step for addressing your mental health concerns. It’s during those periods of intoxication that issues with your mental health tend to escalate.
