As I delve into the tumultuous journey of Chet Hanks, son of the illustrious Tom Hanks, I find myself deeply moved by his resilience and courage. This young man has faced challenges that many of us could barely imagine, yet he stands tall, fighting against the demons that have plagued him since his teenage years.

Chet Hanks shared a candid snap from his self-improvement journey  as he got Botox this week.

33-year-old Chet, the oldest child of renowned actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson (who are 67 years old), shared an amusing photo after getting Botox treatments from his estheticians. He playfully captioned it: “Just received a Botox facial blast on my forehead.”

He added: ‘#Noshameinmygame .’

The reality star also showed off the results of his cosmetic treatment in two smoldering shots.

Subsequently, Chet shared details about the gravity of his former drug problem and how it affected his renowned parents.

In a conversation about his previous struggle with cocaine addiction, Chet drew a parallel with the Tony Montana character portrayed by Al Pacino in Scarface, during an episode of Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk.

The actor stated: “I was once addicted to cocaine, no beating around the bush about it. However, I’ve moved past that phase, but if I had a drug preference, it would be cocaine, similar to Tony Montana.”

‘You’re like, ‘I know this dude’s a f**king cokehead, but I want a little bump,

As an overly enthusiastic fan, I’d find myself yearning to join the circle of enthusiasts, partaking in their shared pastime, which they call “coke”. They’d caution me, saying things like, “Hey, take it easy, buddy. Hang on a sec… Just wait about 15 minutes.” I simply couldn’t get enough of that thrilling substance.

Hanks, who has been sober for almost two years, says of his past addiction: ‘It’s terrible. It eats away,. You just, like, wither away ’cause you can’t eat, you can’t sleep.’

Hanks and Wilson are well-known for conducting an intervention on their teenage son, who, as Chet mentioned, was previously taken to a wilderness camp in 2008 to assist him in overcoming addiction struggles while he was still in high school.

As a devoted follower, I echo Chet’s sentiments, sharing his perspective that he harbors no malice towards his parents for their drastic decision. He further explains, ‘I had been an honest and innocent child throughout my life. And then suddenly, one day, I found myself taking that leap, making that step, and it felt like, ‘What on earth happened to the child within me?’

As a lifestyle guide, I’d like to express a transformation I experienced earlier, one that was quite sudden and caused some concern. Previously, my routine included indulging in recreational marijuana use, drinking alcohol, and engaging in reckless activities. However, the shift away from this pattern felt abrupt and unsettling.

In 2015, he admitted himself to a rehabilitation center due to his dependence on crack cocaine, which had become a means to feed his addiction. As of September 2022, he celebrated one year without using drugs and has been maintaining his sobriety.

His message, as posted, reads: ‘The decision is irreversible; I won’t look back on it. Not ever. Today marks the start. This could very well be the day that irrevocably alters your life forever.’ (In this version, the emphasis and tone remain consistent with the original post.)

Previously, Chet opened up about his struggle with drug addiction, a battle he says he’s fought since he turned 16.

He admitted on Instagram in 2014 that he had been battling substance addiction ever since he turned 16. At the age of 24, he made the decision to seek assistance for his problem.

In a subsequent set of videos, he disclosed that he had been dealing and using cocaine, as well as smoking crack, prior to entering rehab. He admitted, “About two months ago, I was selling cocaine [and] using it so excessively that my nose became blocked, making it impossible to snort anymore. I even resorted to smoking crack.”

The performer attributes his battles with addiction to the pressures that come with being in the limelight and his struggle to conform to societal expectations while living up to his renowned father’s legacy.

Following his stint at rehabilitation, Chet’s two-time Academy Award-winning dad expressed in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight that he stood by his son throughout his journey.

Previously, Chet disclosed during the Ivan Paychecks podcast that his parents, Tom and Rita, chose to enroll him in a wilderness rehabilitation program in the year 2008, as a means to address his substance abuse problems while he was attending high school.

He had recounted the morning he had woken up to find men surrounding his bed, prepared to escort him to the Utah camp.

Men without hair, much like military personnel resembling bouncers, don’t you agree? And I find myself wondering, ‘What in the world is happening here?’ They respond, ‘You’re coming along with us, we can take this path easily or the challenging one.’ This was Chet’s suggestion.

Chet conveyed that he felt his parents were manipulated throughout their lives, primarily due to their high-profile Hollywood and affluent status. He suggested they were exploited like ‘large whales’ because they had the financial means to keep him at the camp for an extended period.
