Chester Bennington’s son Jaime SLAMS Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda for late father’s replacement

As a dedicated fan who has grown up with Linkin Park’s music and Chester Bennington’s powerful voice, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent developments within the band. Jaime Bennington’s concerns are valid, and I can only imagine the pain that he must be going through as his father’s legacy is being redefined without his input or consent.

Jamie Bennington, Chester Bennington’s son, has voiced his objection to Mike Shinoda, the founder of Linkin Park, for including singer Emily Armstrong within the band.

The son of Chester – who died via suicide at the age of 41 on July 20, 2017 – said on his Instagram Stories Sunday that he was opposed to Armstrong, 38, taking his late father’s place in the ensemble, more than seven years after his tragic passing.

Jamie, aged 28, expressed concerns about Lance Armstrong’s connections with Scientology, as well as his previous backing of Danny Masterson, an actor who was found guilty of rape and received a minimum sentence of 30 years imprisonment.

Jamie stated on Sunday, as reported by Page Six, that people are finding it relatively straightforward or not challenging to comprehend the idea of Linkin Park undergoing a transformation.

He added: ‘They’re having a hard time wrapping their head around how you: 1). hired your friend of many years @emilyarmstrong to replace [Chester].’

Jamie stated that the band declined to recognize the influence of employing someone similar to Emily, whom later admitted she had underestimated the Masterson matter and felt she was backing a friend.

Jamie stated that Shinoda, aged 47, prematurely announced Armstrong’s addition to the band in September, a time which coincides with Suicide Prevention Month.

Jamie stated that Shinoda and his companions subtly wiped out [his] father’s life and heritage in real-time, and they violated the faith entrusted to them by generations of fans and well-wishers, which includes myself.

He remarked, “We had faith in you to rise above the situation, as you had expressed that was your goal. However, it appears you may be struggling with clarity and sensitivity in your responses lately.

On Instagram Stories on Sunday, Armstrong, formerly of Dead Sara, expressed regret for having attended one of Masterson’s court hearings, stating that she should not have done so.

She often looks for the positive aspects in individuals, but unfortunately, her assessment of him was incorrect. Since then, they haven’t communicated.

‘As it turned out, shocking truths surfaced when he was eventually convicted. Let me be crystal clear: I strongly oppose any form of abuse or violence towards women, and my heart goes out to those who have suffered such atrocities.’

On Thursday, it was announced that the band is reuniting, with Armstrong taking over as the lead singer and Colin Brittain stepping in for Rob Bourdon on drums, who chose to leave the group, according to Associated Press reports.

The team has just released a song called “The Emptiness Machine,” part of their forthcoming album “Zero,” slated for release on November 15th.

Starting in the early 2000s, Linkin Park garnered significant commercial and critical acclaim, with songs like One Step Closer, In the End, and Crawling becoming major hits. The latter song even won them a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2002.

In the year 2006, the group managed to win another Grammy, this time for the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category, thanks to their joint effort with Jay-Z on the tracks “Numb/Encore”.
