Cheryl’s Shocking BGT Quit Threw Show Into Chaos Before Amanda Holden Saved the Day

Back in 2007, I can hardly believe it now, but I was absolutely thrilled to learn that none other than Cheryl herself was set to be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent – a dream come true for any fan like me! Yet, mere days before the show’s grand debut, she shocked us all by stepping down from her role. Can you imagine the disappointment I felt when the news broke? It still feels surreal to think about what could have been if she’d stayed on the panel!

Before the show resumes for its 18th season on Saturday, the music tycoon, aged 65, stated that the member of Girls Aloud, later known as a judge on The X Factor the next year, experienced a panic attack, causing significant disruption to the production.

Simon reminisced about the time when the show needed a last-minute addition to the panel alongside Piers Morgan, aged 59, as he had stepped up and proclaimed that Amanda Holden, aged 54, was the ideal candidate for the job. Since then, she has continued to be a part of the program.

In the current lineup of judges for the latest show, you’ll find Simon, Amanda, Alesha Dixon (age 46), Bruno Tonioli (age 69), and also a special guest judge, KSI, who is 31 years old.

In praise of Amanda’s time there, he stated: “Amanda truly reigns as our Queen of Britain’s Got Talent, and she certainly deserves that title. Interestingly enough, we had initially planned to give the part to Cheryl Cole, as she went by then.

Expressing admiration for Amanda’s tenure, he commented: “Amanda is undoubtedly our reigning queen of Britain’s Got Talent and she deserves the crown. It’s intriguing to note that we had initially intended to assign the role to Cheryl Cole, who was known by another name back then.

A week prior to the filming, she phoned me and said, “I’m afraid I can’t proceed,” without providing an explanation. I suspect she felt apprehensive. With only two judges and a week left to find a replacement, it was quite challenging.

It was obvious that Amanda was the right choice, as I had previously met her, found her quite amusing, and felt she would be an ideal fit for the program.

Moving on, after eighteen years, she remains extremely successful, and we have grown very close. In fact, I consider her to be among my closest friends.

TopMob have contacted Cheryl’s reps for comment.

Following Simon’s statement, he asserted that the team from Britain’s Got Talent had effectively rescued him, as a perilous stunt had apparently brought him close to death.

The show is scheduled to air again on screens later this month, and with numerous contestants striving to catch the judges’ attention, it seems that the level of risk has escalated significantly. In fact, during one especially tense audition, Simon found himself bracing for potential peril.

According to The Mirror, he was taking risks by having a blindfolded person swing a mallet at watermelons very close to him.

In the upcoming sequences of the program, we’ll witness Amanda and Alesha expressing fear in high pitch tones as Simon lies sprawled on stage, surrounded by scattered watermelon fragments, due to a man wielding a mallet. The suspense will build until a safety official hastens onto the stage to interrupt the performance.

Following the halt of the action, a visibly shocked Simon apparently regained sufficient composure to remark, “Have you lost your mind?”, expressing his disbelief over the recent events.

During an interview with the publication prior to the show, Simon expressed: “There was a sense of being unwanted, like they might not want me on the program anymore. It felt like that. The sensation was almost as if they were planning to eliminate me.

Indeed, I assure you, I genuinely experienced those feelings since the man appeared extremely anxious. Inadvertently, he stumbled, causing him to tremble while he was breaking open those watermelons.

He added: ‘Typically bothersome safety officials stepped in to halt him. Incredibly fortunate, they potentially spared my life. When I was up there, I was fully engrossed and then later realized that situation was incredibly dangerous, almost leading to my demise a dozen times.’

While observing her friend nearly getting hurt, Amanda found it both distressing and difficult to bear. She also expressed her discomfort with Simon acting against instructions to remain still.

She expressed: ‘Even with St. John’s Ambulance present, I couldn’t help but feel anxious because they were handling watermelons and the situation was slippery due to all the juice. Any safety measures that may have been in place seemed irrelevant. It was difficult to observe the scene.’

Alesha expressed her genuine concern and recognized the extent of her care for Simon as she observed him in a potentially dangerous situation.

Furthermore, it’s uncovered that an additional performance, titled “Auzzy Blood,” will likely have spectators cowering behind their pillows.

Through feats like lifting himself off the ground with a nasal hook, there’s a chance this action could lead to complaints being filed with OfCom.

Starting this coming Saturday, the 22nd of February, catch the fresh installment of Britain’s Got Talent an hour earlier, at 7:00 PM, on ITV1, ITVX, and STV channels.
