In a heartfelt manner, Cheryl The Queen spearheaded emotional homages for The Vivienne, whose birthday was honored by adoring fans who had gathered in remembrance of Drag Race UK’s victor.

On Friday, the podcast host paid tribute to the late Welsh celebrity, who sadly passed away at age 32 in January, by playing an old video clip.

Previously in February, The Vivienne’s father offered a touching tribute following the recipient of the Icon Award on Drag Race UK, their child who had won the competition.

The drag queen, whose real name was James Lee Williams, died suddenly in January.

At the Metro Pride Awards, which took place at the Grand Connaught Rooms, The Vivienne received the Icon Award in recognition of their pioneering work in drag, increasing visibility for the LGBTQ+ community, and advocating for their rights.

In the ceremony, The Vivienne’s father, Lee, received the award. As he spoke, he became emotional, discussing his grief.

As a loyal admirer, I can confidently say that James would have reveled in being a part of the thrilling entertainment scene, and I truly believe he would have been overjoyed by tonight’s festivities.

Last year, when he was nominated for the Metro’s Rising Star award, he felt proud and delighted. However, it’s a mix of joy and sadness to be here without him now. But, let me tell you, being in this building held great significance for him – it meant the world to him.

In 2019, The Vivienne gained widespread recognition on a global scale following her victory in the inaugural season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

However, during their journey towards stardom, Williams faced struggles with substance abuse – an issue they had previously discussed publicly.

This year on January 5th, an inquest held in February revealed that a deceased star was discovered in the bathroom of their residence located in Chorlton-by-Backford, close to Chester.

Simon Jones, their close associate and manager, shared on Instagram that he and the family find it significant to explain the circumstances surrounding James’ passing, following reports that suggest James passed away due to a cardiac arrest brought about by the anesthetic drug, ketamine.

Mr. Jones stated, “We’re sharing this data in the hopes that it will increase understanding about the potential hazards associated with prolonged ketamine use and its impact on the human body.

There’s a growing trend of ketamine use, especially among the younger generation, yet I believe there’s not enough conversation about the potential risks associated with this substance.

He mentioned that they plan to collaborate with the mental health and addiction services provided by Adferiad, with an aim to increase essential knowledge about the issue and provide guidance for those experiencing difficulties with ketamine use.

At the February hearing, it was disclosed that the autopsy determined the reason behind The Vivienne’s demise was ‘unusual’. However, no additional details were provided regarding the manner in which the television personality passed away.
