Cher’s son Chaz Bono was spotted out and about in Los Angeles this week.
The 56-year-old, whose parents were pop star Cher and the late Sonny Bono, was dressed casually in a black T-shirt, red hat, jeans, and black and white sneakers.
Bono, who transitioned from female to male in 2009, was wearing dark-rimmed glasses and had a full beard.
This is just the second time Chaz has been seen in public since his brother, Elijah Blue Allman, overdosed in June. Thankfully, Elijah has since recovered.
Last year Cher revealed she got her son’s blessing to use his ‘deadname,’ Chastity, in her memoir.
In the introduction to her memoir, Cher explained that she uses the name ‘Chas’ when referring to her son, Chaz, as that was the name he preferred during the period the book covers.
News of Bono’s appearance surfaces as reports suggest his mother is planning to marry her partner, Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, before she turns 80 in May.

The Burlesque actress has been dating the 39-year-old music executive for three years.
Cher, who has been married twice before, seems unconcerned about the significant age difference between her and her new partner and is eager to build a serious relationship.
A friend of the celebrity revealed to The Mirror that she’s hoping to get married to him around her birthday in May.
She views her 80th birthday party as the ideal moment for her and Alexander to finalize their plans.
According to a source, Cher isn’t bothered by the age gap, and both she and her partner are serious about their relationship.
Last November, the singer discussed her long-term relationship in an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings.
‘We laugh all the time, you know? I just love him,’ she gushed about her much-younger beau.
When it comes to critics of the unlikely pairing, the songstress had one word: ‘Whatever.’
She made it clear that others shouldn’t assume they understand her life or relationship. She said that despite what people might think, they genuinely enjoy each other’s company and have a lot of fun together.

Cher is reportedly in talks to work on a Netflix series about her life and career.
She would be the subject of a seven-episode show potentially premiering on the streamer in 2026.
The Sun reports that she’s in late-stage discussions to create a series titled ‘Sharing Her Story’.
The episodes, each about an hour long, are expected to launch alongside the second half of the singer’s autobiography, following the release of the first part in November 2024.
According to a source, Cher and Netflix have been negotiating for several months and are now close to finalizing a deal.
