Cher sets November release date for first installment of two-part memoir, 'Cher: The Memoir, Part One'

As a passionate moviegoer and music enthusiast, I can’t help but be excited about Cher’s upcoming memoir. Her life story is truly one for the ages, filled with resilience, determination, and a refusal to conform to societal norms. The fact that she feels her life is “too immense for only one book” speaks volumes about the richness and complexity of her experiences.

In simpler terms, Cher’s life story will be shared in two parts as a memoir due to the enormity of her experiences, according to her publisher.

A seven-decade fighter for personal freedom and a three-time Grammy, Oscar, and Emmy award recipient, revealed the publication date on her newest venture this week. She assured fans that her forthcoming memoir will share her authentic experiences in great depth.

“Cher’s memoir ‘Cher: The Memoir, Part One‘ is set to be released on shelves on November 19, 2021. A second part of her book, titled ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’, will be published by Dey Street Books in the year 2025.”

Growing up with dyslexia and harboring dreams of fame, I, Cher, was brought up in an environment that was frequently chaotic. My world was filled with singers, actors, and even my own mother, who despite our challenging relationship, continued to inspire me deeply. (Dey Street Books’ statement)

Using her signature frankness and wit, “Cher: The Memoir” recounts the remarkable journey of this unpolished gem who defied the odds and doubted herself, eventually transforming into a groundbreaking icon whose radiance and talent have captivated audiences for over fifty years.

In the initial part of this series, we will delve into the early life experiences of the renowned singer, Cher. We will also explore how she met and wed her former partner Sonny Bono, a musician and later congressman from Palm Springs who tragically passed away in a skiing accident in 1998. Through Cher’s perspective, we will unravel the intricate relationship they shared which propelled them to worldwide fame, yet ultimately led to their separation.

Cherilyn Sarkisian, known for her hit song “Believe,” and Bono are the parents of one child, Chaz Bono, who is now 55. Later, in her second marriage to the late musician Greg Allman, she gave birth to Elijah Blue Allman, who is currently 48 years old.

The publisher announced that the memoir will offer an insight into “the activist and philanthropist’s role as a daughter, sister, wife, lover, mother, and icon.” At 78 years old, this remarkable woman holds numerous accolades, including being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, honored by the Kennedy Center, and holding the unique achievement of topping the Billboard charts in every decade from the 1950s through the 1970s.

In November 2023, the actress known for her roles in “Moonstruck” and “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” made a humorous comment on “The Tonight Show.” She admitted that she had originally held back some personal details about her life when writing earlier drafts.

She acknowledged that they needed to be included, so she had to go back and face the challenges. Furthermore, she expressed that with her extensive experiences in life, it seemed only fitting for her to serve as a comprehensive source of knowledge.
