Cher, 79, claims she manifested toyboy rapper boyfriend Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, 39, into her life in rare confession about her love life

Cher has been thinking about her relationship with Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards and shared that she feels she actually brought them both – him and his son – into her life through the power of positive thinking.

I was so surprised to hear this week on the Armchair Expert podcast that the incredible singer, who’s 79, actually said her partner, who’s 39, is just wonderful! She went on to say he’s one of only two men she’s ever dated that she feels she truly deserves. It’s so heartwarming to hear her talk about him like that after all these years.

The singer shared that before she met her partner, she’d jokingly tell herself what she wanted: ‘a man and a toddler.’ She clarified she hadn’t imagined finding both at the same time, but that’s ultimately what she desired – a partner and a young child, though she initially thought they’d come into her life at different stages.

The award-winning singer found what she was looking for when she started dating Alexander over three years ago, as he already had a six-year-old son, Slash, with his former partner, Amber Rose.

The mother of two has become good friends with a young boy and recently treated him to a performance of The Lion King. She explained, ‘We went because my own six-year-old is very bright and enjoys those kinds of things.’

His father started pursuing us, and I had a security guard present. Slash then approached the guard and exclaimed that his father was a psychopath.

The Strong Enough hitmaker was quick to clarify with a laugh: ‘He’s not’.

The iconic performer also shared what makes her relationship with Alexander so strong, explaining that he’s comfortable with her fame and achievements.

When 51-year-old Dax, who is married to actress Kristen Bell, 45, said he doesn’t feel intimidated by his wife’s achievements, Cher responded by sharing a similar experience with her partner, Alexander. She explained that she’s found her own partner thrives as her success grows, saying, ‘The more I shine, the more he has for him.’

The Academy Award-winning actress also revealed that Alexander is one of only two men she feels she truly deserved, the other being music industry executive David Geffen.

Cher began a relationship with David in 1973, while her marriage to Sonny Bono was falling apart. She and Sonny had been married from 1964 until their divorce in 1975.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE what I just read! Apparently, this amazing entertainment exec, David – he’s 82 now! – was a total lifesaver for Cher. She was stuck in this awful situation with Sonny, where he ran Cher Enterprises and basically controlled everything she did, even though she was the bigger star! He wouldn’t let her have any say in her own career. David helped her get out of that, and honestly, I can’t even imagine how grateful she must have been. He totally rescued her!

David, who publicly came out as gay in 1992, once said his 18-month relationship with Cher was the most amazing experience of his life.

In her memoir, Cher revealed the challenges she faced during her marriage to Sonny, Chaz’s father. She described instances where he physically mistreated her and admitted she once feared for her life, even considering the possibility he might kill her.

Cher quickly married musician Gregg Allman only four days after her divorce from Sonny was completed in 1975. They had a son, Elijah Blue, in 1976, but later divorced.

This week on the podcast, Cher spoke about Gregg, describing him as a kind and gifted person who struggled with drug addiction. She explained that when he was well, he was wonderful and genuine, but when he used drugs, he would distance himself, leaving and then returning.

Even though it’s not always easy, Cher has stayed friends with some of her former partners, like David Geffen and Robert Camilletti, who the media playfully called “Bagel Boy” when they first dated in 1986.

Robert, who was 17 years younger than Cher, was a budding actor and baker before becoming a pilot. Cher considered him a significant love in her life, even though their relationship only lasted a short time and ended in 1989.

Cher and her partner, Alexander, have been dating for a little over three years and share a home – a large, Italian Renaissance-style mansion – in Malibu.

This couple often attends glamorous events together, as they both enjoy fashion and being social.

A representative for Cher recently denied rumors that she and her partner are getting married, saying there are ‘absolutely no plans for a wedding’ at this time.

Okay, so all those rumors about Cher being totally unbothered by the age difference with her partner and even planning a wedding around her 80th birthday? Apparently, they’re not true! Someone reported all that, and now her team is saying it’s just not happening. Honestly, I was so excited about the idea, but I guess we can’t believe everything we read. Still, can you imagine Cher, at 80, walking down the aisle? A girl can dream, right?

Even though Cher and her partner haven’t announced wedding plans, she’s publicly shared how happy she is with the relationship.

In an interview with Gayle King last year, she shared her feelings, saying that while she’s getting older, her enthusiasm remains youthful. She expressed her deep affection for him, describing him as both handsome and incredibly gifted.

She brushed off criticism about their age difference, saying that people on the internet don’t understand their relationship. ‘They don’t know what it’s like for us, and we’re having a great time,’ she explained.
