Chelsee Healey reveals she had a C-section three weeks before her due date after suffering with ‘dark thoughts’ during second pregnancy

Chelsee Healey recently disclosed that she underwent a C-section three weeks prior to her due date, as she grappled with distressing thoughts during her second pregnancy.

36-year-old star from Hollyoaks, who is now a parent to baby Cookie, had a tough time dealing with her mental health both before and following the birth.

Chelsee – who also has daughter Coco, seven – revealed she had post-partum depression too. 

She shared with The Sun, “For quite some time, I’ve struggled with my mental wellbeing, and it reached its highest point during my pregnancy.

At times, I’ve found myself grappling with somber thoughts, questioning my worth as a mother during pregnancy, especially when I had a young daughter who relied on me for support and guidance. The weight of responsibility felt heavy, and I couldn’t help but wonder how I could allow such feelings to consume me at this critical juncture in our lives. It was a challenging period that forced me to confront my emotions and seek help when needed, ultimately helping me grow stronger as a mother.

Due to my mental health issues, I was delivered via C-section earlier than expected, which was originally scheduled for January 14th. Instead, the procedure was performed on December 22nd as they realized I was facing significant challenges.

She shares Cookie with her partner Eddie who she chooses to keep private. 

During a challenging pregnancy and continuing up until her child, Cookie, turned one, Chelsee sought counseling from a therapist to address her mental health issues. Additionally, she’s been prescribed medication to help manage these concerns.

When Cookie was born Chelsee was criticized for her choice of name. 

As a former teacher who has witnessed the emotional toll bullying can take on children, I strongly urge parents to avoid giving their kids unique or hard-to-pronounce names that may invite ridicule and teasing from peers. While it may seem appealing to stand out in the crowd by choosing an unconventional name, the potential negative consequences for our children far outweigh any perceived benefits. Let’s prioritize our children’s emotional well-being and help them navigate their social lives with confidence and ease.

Chelsee retorted with a strong message at Amber Darke: “@amber.darke, any child who bullies my children [angry emoticon], we do not accept bullying. Please raise your children to be more considerate and mind your own business.” [sic]

Later on, Chelsee responded forcefully to counteract the harsh comments directed towards her daughter, confessing that the previous week had been particularly challenging for her.

On her Instagram Stories, she expressed gratitude for the numerous beautiful messages and comments about her newborn daughter.

‘It’s been a difficult week but so happy she is here and healthy.

Additionally, even during the festive season, some individuals seem unable to express kindness, as evidenced by their harsh words and remarks about our daughter’s name.

I’m dedicating time to improve myself comprehensively, cherishing my lovely babies, Coco and Cookie, with the aim of being the most nurturing mother possible for them.

‘Hope you have all had the most gorgeous Christmas.’

In a short while, Chelsee is set to participate in the latest season of “Dancing on Ice” on ITV, where she’ll be partnered with professional ice skater, Andy Buchanan.
