Chelsea Handler Wants British Husband
Chelsea Handler has confessed that she’s contemplating her earlier decision against marriage, since she’s currently seeking a British partner instead.
Recently, there have been speculations of a romantic connection between the comedian, who is now 50 years old, and British actor Ralph Fiennes. This came about when they were seen exiting the Vanity Fair Oscar Party with laughter and linked arms.
Nevertheless, she seemed to dismiss the speculation, hinting at a lack of interest in committing to someone seriously.
Chelsea clarified to Entertainment Tonight that she and Ralph, aged 62, were merely attending another gathering together with a different group of people, and that was the extent of their activities.
Initially, she confessed, “I believe Ralph Fiennes is not suitable for marriage. Similarly, I don’t see myself as marriage material. In my opinion, neither of us is going to get married.
Yet, it appears that the well-known stand-up comedian seems to have changed her feelings, expressing to HELLO! that she is actively seeking a husband, particularly one residing in the United Kingdom, as she desires to depart from the U.S.

To make things clear about her relationship status, she shared: ‘Currently, I’m single and quite content with my freedom. However, there are moments when having a partner would be beneficial, preferably a British one, as I desire a change of scenery in my life. Therefore, I might need to rephrase that earlier statement. Indeed, I am actively seeking a husband.’
In her recent history, Chelsea was in a long-term relationship with fellow comedian Jo Koy. Additionally, she has been associated with chef Bobby Flay, hotelier André Balazs, rapper 50 Cent, comedian David Alan Grier, and former Comcast Entertainment Group CEO Ted Harbert.
She confessed that her hesitation to get married isn’t due to a scarcity of chances, given that she has ended two previous engagement, but rather because she views marriage as the equivalent of “the end of the celebration.
She shared that she has a habit of agreeing to proposals swiftly, only to end relationships shortly afterwards – this pattern has occurred twice in her past. However, if she found herself deeply enamored and marriage was a possibility, she might consider giving it a chance.
However, for me, the world should brim with opportunities, and in my perspective, marriage symbolizes the sole option available. It resembles the concluding moments of a celebration where one is left to spend time exclusively with the chosen companion.
As a passionate devotee, I can’t help but echo Chelsea’s sentiments when she dismissed the absurdity of being criticized for my decision not to become a parent. She firmly stood her ground, emphasizing that such criticism has no place in determining whether or not she should be a parent.
She expressed: ‘I don’t possess those abilities needed for parenthood, and it’s irresponsible to bring a child into the world if I’m not inclined towards it. It’s absurd to be criticized for my choice not to have children, as I’m being responsible by making this decision.’
Last month, Chelsea shared further insights on Kylie Kelce’s podcast regarding her choice to remain childless, stating: ‘Understanding whether one possesses the necessary qualities for parenthood is crucial.’

I don’t possess what you mentioned. However, I am fortunate to have an abundant amount of time, as I don’t have the responsibility of taking care of my own family.
Her recent affirmation that she is unattached follows an earlier revelation in February when Chelsea admitted to being in a relationship with an unidentified man for approximately nine months.
During an appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, the host of the Critics’ Choice Awards playfully hinted: ‘I am currently in a relationship with someone who I find incredibly appealing and enjoy spending intimate moments with, which is a delightful aspect of my life.’
She continued, “I’ve never really considered my past relationships as particularly serious. I don’t identify myself as someone who thrives in romantic relationships. Instead, I view myself as someone driven by purpose.
My role seems to be centered around engaging in meaningful discussions such as this one, inspiring others with hope, and providing support to women. This appears to be the reason I’m here, regardless of whether there are further lives to come.
Chelsea stated: ‘I know what my role is, and any man in my life is secondary or supplementary. It’s a side affair, and while I care for them and respect everyone, that’s not the primary focus of my life. I’m not someone who prioritizes relationships above all else.’
Previously, she openly discussed the cause for her separation from her ex-boyfriend Jo, who is 53 years old, following nearly a year of dating. She revealed that despite being deeply in love and content, they had to part ways because of their contrasting beliefs.

On the Armchair Expert podcast in February, she openly discussed her heartache, revealing that she ultimately prioritized herself, refusing to sacrifice her beliefs or future.
She expressed: ‘His idea of a mature, healthy relationship didn’t align with mine, and to maintain it, I would have had to sacrifice my core beliefs, which I was unwilling to do.’
She pointed out that Jo’s ideas about their relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend seemed quite traditional, even antiquated, and unlikely to succeed, noting plainly that they clearly had contrasting visions when it came to spending time together.
She clarified: ‘It seemed like I had to choose between maintaining a relationship and giving everything of myself, or prioritizing myself and my well-being – although “sanity” might be too strong a word – yet I would have violated my personal beliefs in the process.’
Chelsea pondered over the impact her relationship had on her self-confidence and capacity to embrace vulnerability, as well as her openness towards receiving love.
She shared that the most significant lesson from that relationship was learning how to love again, deeply and sensibly, and when she understood it wasn’t sustainable, she ended it gracefully without dwelling on past issues or ugliness.
During a period when her enthusiasm for her work had waned, the comedian found herself reminded of her inner strength and personal power – who she truly is.
