Check out the trailer for the new Game of Thrones action-adventure game, Kingsroad
As a long-time enthusiast of both gaming and the captivating world of Westeros, I must say that the trailer for “Game of Thrones: Kingsroad” has me absolutely thrilled! After years of disappointing adaptations and mobile games, it seems we might finally have the immersive, action-packed experience we’ve all been craving.
The Game of Thrones franchise hasn’t had the best luck with video game adaptations, but Telltale’s series of narrative-driven adventure games from some time ago was quite decent. Apart from those, there have mainly been mobile games with tactical aspects.
Journey Along the Kingsroad
Last night at The Game Awards, an official trailer was unveiled, hinting that your character could become part of the Night’s Watch. This means you won’t be playing as Jon Snow, but rather getting to encounter him, along with other familiar faces from the show such as Varys and Jaime Lannister. Take a look at the trailer above!
As reported by Metro, the upcoming game offers a tactical combat system where you can select among three distinct styles: a knight wielding a longsword, a mercenary armed with two-headed axes, or an assassin using dual daggers. Based on the brief glimpses, it appears that the action will be quite dynamic, which is something that’s been relatively scarce in other Game of Thrones video game adaptations. Furthermore, the creators have hinted at explicit and adult content, aligning the game with the mature themes present in the show.
At first glance, it seems like the long-awaited video game based on the popular series “Game of Thrones.” However, it’s important to note that this game is exclusively for mobile devices, which may imply that its scope isn’t as grandiose as it initially appears. More details will be revealed when “Game of Thrones: Kingsroad” launches in 2025, but for now, it’s only available on smartphones.
Watch new trailers for Squid Game Unleashed, The Witcher 4, and more
Discussing video games connected with TV series, The Game Awards had some exciting news to share. Additionally, there’s an upcoming battle royale game within the universe of Squid Game, scheduled for release just before the show’s second season debut. You can see the trailer for it below; they really pulled out all the stops to make an impression on attendees at the Game Awards:
The highly-anticipated debut of “Squid Game Unveiled” is set for December 17, followed by the return of “Squid Game” TV series’ second season on Netflix, arriving on December 26. Happy Holidays to everyone!
Additionally, we were treated to an enticing movie trailer for the upcoming action-RPG series installment, The Witcher IV, from CD Projekt Red. This game will take place several years later and give players a chance to control a mature Ciri, who has become a seasoned witcher after being trained by Geralt of Rivia in the earlier games.
As for “The Witcher IV”, a specific launch date hasn’t been announced as of now, but it seems we might have to wait a while, perhaps even 2026. The fourth season of the TV series based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s original “Witcher” books is slated for release sometime next year.
In conclusion, though unrelated to any TV series at this point, we were fortunate enough to receive a trailer for the upcoming game titled “Elden Ring Nightreign.” In this title, players join forces to traverse the expansive Lands Between. With its rich high fantasy setting, it’s definitely up our alley.
Elden Ring Nightreign will come out sometime in 2025.
