Check out gorgeous images from the House of the Dragon season 2 finale
As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating the complexities of Game of Thrones-inspired games, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation that’s reminiscent of the final boss battle in my favorite RPG. The upcoming House of the Dragon finale is like the endgame content I’ve been grinding for, and it’s finally here.
The last installment of “House of the Dragon” season 2 is scheduled for broadcast this Sunday, August 4, on both HBO and Max. This time around, we’re treated to fresh images, with one featuring Criston Cole making an appearance after missing the previous episode. He can be seen walking towards Harrenhal, looking particularly somber as he gazes intently into a campfire.
We’ll return to Driftmark one more time this season to check in on Corlys Velaryon:
In addition, we will revisit Harrenhal, the place where Daemon Targaryen has managed to gather an army of Rivermen following considerable efforts and planning.
In the final episode, there’s plenty going down in King’s Landing. Once more, Larys Strong plans to pay a visit to the sickly King Aegon Targaryen, offering him counsel, given their shared experience of disability.
As Aegon lies in recovery, his brother Aemond takes over as regent, a role he may not relish given the recent news about Rhaenyra’s new cadre of dragonriders supporting her. Now, it seems I’m in for a stern lecture from Mom, Alicent.
As a dedicated gamer, I always strive to engage with my in-game siblings, and Helaena is no exception. In the final trailer, it appears that Aemond is requesting her to mount Dreamfyre for battle – an idea that I can only imagine won’t elicit much joy from her side.
Lastly, Rhaenyra cheers her freshly unified dragon-mounted air force, consisting of her son Jace, her stepdaughter Baela, and the trio of recent additions to the dragonriding ranks – Addam of Hull, Ulf White, and Hugh Hammer.
As a long-time fan of the series, I have to admit that this week’s episode was noticeably lighter on images compared to previous ones. However, being well-versed in HBO’s history of keeping secrets and building suspense for their finales, I can’t help but suspect that they have more up their sleeves for the grand finale. Despite some parts leaking ahead of time, I am confident that the specifics will remain a mystery until the end of this weekend, when everyone will finally get to see how it all unfolds.
