As a seasoned gamer and avid fan of George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, I must say that this 2025 calendar is a treasure trove for us eager enthusiasts! The artwork by Eddie Mendoza is simply breathtaking and brings the world of Westeros and Essos to life in ways that even HBO’s adaptation could not.

Yearly, an artist is selected to depict a different scene for the “Song of Ice and Fire” calendar. Each month showcases a distinct location across Westeros and Essos, imaginary lands created by George R.R. Martin in his novels. For 2025, that honor goes to Eddie Mendoza, who has been sharing many pieces from the calendar on his Artstation and Instagram profiles.

Right now, you can grab a discount on the calendar! Here’s a peek at some captivating art pieces inside it. Let me draw your attention to the mesmerizing cover design, showcasing Starfall – the legendary home of House Dayne in Dorne.

In the realm of gaming, I’ve never set foot in Starfall – not even in HBO’s epic rendition of George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire”. It was merely a tale told elsewhere in the books. However, the 2025 game calendar is brimming with obscure locations from the World of Ice and Fire, alongside some familiar territories. Check out Mendoza’s Instagram slider below for a sneak peek at several captivating illustrations, starting with one of Qarth, the Essos city that Daenerys Targaryen once visited while her dragons were still infants:

By exploring this post, we’ll virtually journey to Essos, a coastal city where Arya Stark learned from the Faceless Men; the Nightfort, one of the fortifications along the Wall; Skagos Island, reportedly inhabited by cannibals and not previously featured in the books or TV series; Moat Cailin, a fort that divides the North from the rest of Westeros; and the Water Gardens, the lavish Dornish gardens where Doran Martell devised his schemes.

Mostly, these aren’t frequently encountered in either “Game of Thrones” or its source books. For a more recognizable location, Mendoza has also illustrated Dragonstone – a place significant to House Targaryen that appears both on “Game of Thrones” and in “House of the Dragon.

The good news continues to pile up! Although we won’t share all of them here, Mendoza has also created stunning depictions of various locations, such as the Dreadfort, a chilling fortress ruled by the Boltons where enemies were mercilessly skinned; Hellholt, the stronghold of House Uller in Dorne; the Inn at the Crossroads, a significant inn in the Riverlands where numerous characters have interacted; and Planky Town in Dorne.

Once again, the 2025 Song of Ice and Fire calendar is on sale now!
