As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but feel that certain tunes in games can be pure joy-infusing magic. You know the feeling when you come across a track that makes you want to belt it out, tap your feet, or even imagine drumming along? That’s the power of catchy songs!
However, there are times when things can take a turn for the worse. Remember that one song you heard too many times, making you want to mute or skip it every time it comes on? It’s like listening to a wretched piece of plastic – music in name only.
Many popular catchy songs, as deemed by a recent CNET article and multiple AI services, often fit this description. Notably, ChatGPT’s list tends to lean towards music that may not be particularly appealing or enjoyable to many listeners.
As a gaming enthusiast, I gave both Gemini and Copilot a whirl, and thankfully, they didn’t disappoint. Unlike the usual flood of bubblegum content, these platforms served up some hard-to-find, action-packed gems that truly made my gaming experience worthwhile.
AI lists top-10 catchiest songs ever and some are awful
Among all songs, ChatGPT finds “Y.M.C.A.” by the Village People particularly catchy. This song seems to be a favorite of the current U.S. president, who often plays it at his rallies. Given the song’s subject matter, one might find this odd, but everyone has different tastes, after all!
A popular disco song, “Dancing Queen” by ABBA, ranks second. Essentially, this indicates that people have a fondness for sugary confections in music, as evidenced by their preference for songs filled with catchy melodies, dance moves, and overly polished productions – much like overly sweet treats.
Taylor Swift graces the stage, at least, and her lively, humorous song “Shake It Off” ranks 10th. While there are many memorable tunes by Swift, they luckily don’t have a overly sweet quality that would place them in the top five. Instead of being too sugary like some might expect, Swift offers substance. In comparison, the Village People may not deliver as profoundly.
Based on Gemini, an AI system suggests that rock songs can have the same level of infectiousness as any other genre. Among these, “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, and “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi are included in the top 10 catchiest songs. While “Livin’ on a Prayer” is undeniably popular, its inclusion as one of the top 10 catchiest seems debatable to some.
Copilot played a variety of more recent songs compared to ChatGPT. Among them were catchy hits like “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers and “The Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran. These tracks are worth repeated listens, standing out in quality. In comparison, “Y.M.C.A.” might not hold up as well.
