Charlotte Crosby’s mother Letitia, 56, is diagnosed with skin cancer for a second time – and professes ‘she is gutted and always wears Factor 50’

Charlotte Crosby’s mother, Letitia (aged 56), has disclosed that she has been re-diagnosed with skin cancer.

On Tuesday, the mother of the Geordie Shore star shared with her 130k Instagram followers that she had been diagnosed with facial cancer mere hours before departing on a holiday. It was on this trip that she chose to reveal this difficult news.

She shared that she experienced quite a shock when, approximately three hours before her scheduled flight, she discovered at the hospital that she has skin cancer affecting her facial area.

‘I’m not thrilled about this news, especially since I usually wear SPF 50. Needless to say, I’m quite disappointed.’

Letitia posted a close-up photo of her face, writing as the caption: “I didn’t anticipate this surprise from aoen news until just 3 hours prior to my flight.

Four hours before my flight, I discovered I had a low-grade skin cancer. This really took me by surprise as I don’t use tanning beds and always wear SPF 50 sunscreen.

‘For the past few weeks, I’ve only been in Australia, and that seems to be where this issue started. Unfortunately, it appears that a skin graft might be necessary as it’s a fairly large area affected. I must say, I’m quite disappointed about this #gutted #sunscrean #protect, truly disheartening!’

Several individuals, among them Charlotte’s friends and fellow cast members from Geordie Shore like Sophie Kasaei and Holly Hagan, left comments on the video.

In February 2023, Charlotte received heartfelt support from her fans when she publicly expressed her feelings upon learning that her mother, Letitia, had initially been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Charlotte discovered that something surprising happened to her mother towards the end of 2022, while she was expecting her first child, named Alba Jean.

During her BBC reality show, Charlotte in Sunderland expressed her emotions to a friend amidst tears: “Lauren, I’m afraid she has breast cancer and she’s really struggling.

Later, in a direct-to-camera address, she expressed, “We were struck unprepared, just as if a heavy load of bricks fell upon us. It was during a standard mammogram exam that she discovered the problem. There were no warning signs or symptoms beforehand, so the diagnosis came as an enormous surprise.

As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that I personally announced that my own mother had recently received a diagnosis for a certain illness, a piece of news that came barely weeks before the joyous arrival of our little bundle of joy, Alba Jean, with my partner Jake Ankers.

The popular television host admitted that she felt deeply distressed when she found out her mother, aged 53, had been diagnosed with cancer, a revelation that came shortly after learning about her pregnancy, marking the birth of her first child.

Charlotte, being eight months pregnant, shared that Letitia showed no signs or palpable masses initially, and admittedly, she hesitated to accept her mother’s diagnosis at first. However, just a few days after the diagnosis, the celebrity herself discovered a lump but was later given a clean bill of health.

I’d been meticulous about keeping up with my annual mammograms, never once skipping a beat. But when they delivered the news that it was cancer, I couldn’t help but feel like the wind had been knocked out of me.

Telling Charlotte about my cancer was incredibly hard, considering we’d just learned a few months prior that she was pregnant with a baby – such joyous news for us both.

For several months, Letitia leaned on Charlotte and her loved ones as she faced a series of biopsies prior to having her tumor removed and her breast reconstructed through surgery.

Just days after Charlotte learned the news about her mum, she found a lump in her own breast.

She shared that following her mother’s diagnosis, she suddenly became more mindful of her own physical self. Not long after, she discovered a lump on her body. Immediately, she sought medical attention for it. Fortunately, the results turned out to be reassuring as it wasn’t anything harmful.

Charlotte conveyed to her mother that she felt confident everything would be alright, as she was determined it wasn’t cancer.

The ex-star of Geordie Shore expressed, “When she informed us it was cancer, I initially refused to accept it. She insisted, ‘It’s cancer,’ but I remained unconvinced, so certain it couldn’t be.

Letitia recently underwent surgery to take out a tumor. Following this, she received both chemotherapy and radiation therapy to ensure all cancerous cells are eliminated from her body.
