Charlize Theron torches celebs attending Bezos-Sánchez wedding with shocking insult during charity speech
At her charity event, Block Party, on Saturday evening, Charlize Theron publicly criticized the guest list of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding.
At the grand wedding in Venice, Italy, there were numerous famous faces from the worlds of entertainment and sports – including Tom Brady, members of the Kardashian family, Ivanka Trump, Oprah Winfrey, and many others.
Nonetheless, the three-day event has not been without controversy. Many residents of Venice are displeased that the couple decided to get married there, which led to demonstrations within the city.
At her event that supports the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, Theron, who is 49 years old, shared her thoughts with the audience as she made her appearance on stage.
She jokingly implied that it seemed as though they were the only ones not invited to the Bezos wedding, but she didn’t mind since she found them pretentious and considered themselves as more trendy instead. (According to The Hollywood Reporter)
It seems the remark might have been a jest, but Theron kept venting her frustration about politics and the way certain matters were being dealt with, labeling them as outdated.

The actress from The Monster expresses gratitude to all who participated, acknowledging that it’s particularly significant given the current global turmoil where it seems as though the world is on fire, and unfortunately, Los Angeles, the U.S., and many other regions are regressing at an alarming pace.
She stated that current immigration policies have devastating effects on families instead of criminals, women’s rights are dwindling day by day, queer and transgender individuals are being marginalized more and more, and incidents of gender-based violence are escalating. This isn’t merely a matter of policy; it’s deeply personal to her. She then added, “Indeed, I am angered by their actions.
In 2007, Theron established CTAOP, an organization dedicated to improving the health and safety of youth in Southern Africa, with the goal of fostering a more equal future for everyone, as stated on their official site.
Theron personally relates to the topic of immigration as she is originally from South Africa and later moved to the U.S., but was expelled at the age of 19 due to exceeding the validity of her work visa, as reported by THR.
Ultimately, she was granted permission to return and in 2007 became a U.S. citizen.
In 2008, she shared with OK! that at the age of 19, she was expelled from the country due to her work on a documentary about Cuba, where she both produced and financed it.
She mentioned, “It’s not wise to keep testing your fortune. I became a U.S. citizen just last year,” she continued.
In a 2007 interview with Vogue, she expressed that following the last two elections, she decided it was time for her to become a U.S. citizen so she could exercise her right to vote.

I prefer not just talking about action, but actually participating and engaging, without the constant dread of being ousted or excluded.
As a lifestyle expert, I had the privilege of experiencing an unforgettable day in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, where I proudly took part in the process of becoming a naturalized citizen. Accompanied by my dear mother and a delightful group of friends, we shared this significant milestone together, making memories that will last a lifetime.
Theron added, “My mother became deeply moved. She exclaimed something like, ‘We are citizens of America!’ You understand, she went through the process, took her oath, received a personal letter from President Bush, welcoming her into this country.
Although it might seem unusual, there’s an inherent part of me that will forever be connected to South Africa. Regardless of any intentions I may have, I doubt I could ever completely let go of that.
On a beautiful Friday in Venice, Italy, located on San Giorgio Maggiore island, the highly anticipated union between Bezos and Sanchez took place before approximately 200 distinguished guests, marking a significant event in their lives.

Among the attendees witnessing the marriage of Bezos and Sanchez were celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kylie Jenner, Usher, Khloe Kardashian, and the latest bachelor Orlando Bloom.
However, the couple’s journey to Venice was anything but a tranquil voyage. Instead, they encountered angry protesters who were outraged because it was claimed that the interests of the local community were being overlooked in favor of accommodating affluent tourists.
Bezos is worth around $224.6 billion and is thought to have spent tens of millions on his wedding.
One large sign in St. Mark’s Square said, ‘Shoulder the cost of a Venetian wedding, you could handle extra taxes.’
Greenpeace and the UK-based group Everyone Hates Elon participated in demonstrations in Venice with the aim of either interrupting or blocking the planned wedding festivities of Amazon’s founder Bezos.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m always intrigued by the fascinating lives of the wealthy, and Jeff Bezos certainly fits that bill. Despite being the world’s second-wealthiest individual, reports suggest he pays a mere 1.1% in true taxes. It’s quite astonishing to consider such a disparity between wealth accumulation and tax contribution.
Now, let’s talk about his upcoming nuptials, which are rumored to span over three days. The cost of these celebrations is astronomical, with the wedding ring allegedly setting him back by as much as $5 million. Can you imagine the value of that ring compared to what most people earn in a lifetime? It’s mind-boggling!
Previously, a representative from Everyone Hates Elon commented: “While governments grapple with tough decisions over funding essential services, Jeff Bezos has the means to halt an entire city for several days merely for his wedding.
Mayor Luigi Brugnaro and regional governor Luca Zaia have expressed their support for the upcoming grand wedding, often referred to as “the wedding of the century.” They predict that the festivities will generate between 20 and 34 million dollars for local businesses.
