Charlize Theron, an actress I’ve admired since her days in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Mad Max, is set to join the likes of Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Robert Pattinson.
Charlize Theron is in line to join Christopher Nolan’s latest star-studded project.
Tom Theron, known for his roles in both the Mad Max and Fast & Furious series, has just been added to the cast of Nolan’s upcoming project, following Oppenheimer, according to Deadline.
Additionally joining the already-declared actors Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Robert Pattinson in this upcoming project is Theron. As of now, it’s planned for a summer 2026 release.
Nolan’s new movie doesn’t currently have an official title or any confirmed plot details.
Known primarily for portraying Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man series, Holland has recently shared insights on the casting process for the movie, expressing that collaborating with director Nolan is a significant professional ambition of his career.
He remarked, “When the chance arose, it felt like the most significant phone call I’ve ever received.” It brought back memories of when I got the call about Spider-Man, a decade ago.
“It’s an amazing thing for me. I’m super proud and I’m really, really excited.”
In regards to the movie, Holland has been tight-lipped about its details. However, he shared his enthusiasm by stating, “I’m extremely excited and naturally honored, but I can only say that because truthfully, that’s about all I know.
Although it’s unclear what part Theron will play in Nolan’s movie, she recently discussed the postponed sequel to “The Old Guard” – revealing that progress has been made on the much-anticipated second installment.
She mentioned that they encountered some difficulties, leading to a halt in post-production approximately five weeks into the process. The organization was undergoing significant transformations, and she fully comprehended the reasons for it.
“We finally picked it back up and I’m really excited about it.
She emphasized, “This film holds great significance for us. I was determined to bring something extraordinary to life with it. I must say, I have a deep affection for this movie.” She went on to assure us that the upcoming sequel is equally impressive, as she described it as “exceptionally well-done”.
Christopher Nolan’s next film is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2026.
