In her latest interview, Theron shared that the delay is attributed in part to Netflix undergoing significant transformations over the past few years.

I hit a roadblock in the production process around week five, as the team was undergoing significant changes. I completely empathize with their situation. Now, we’re back on track and I’m thrilled about where we’re headed.

The Oscar-winning actor expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming sequel, stating, “It’s truly excellent.” He further emphasized, “This film holds great significance for us. I was committed to making it exceptional. I have a deep affection for this project.”

Matthias Schoenaerts made remarks with a striking resemblance to these, sharing with Collider back in the spring: “From what I’ve gathered, it seems there has been a change in leadership at Netflix.”

If a new CEO is appointed instead, this could impact the timing and methods of any upcoming releases, which is beyond my control. I’m unsure of the details.

He remarked: “However, I’m certain that we’re nearing the final stages of post-production. Therefore, you can expect to see the results soon.”

The movie “The Old Guard,” derived from the comic source of the same title by Greg Rucka, centers around a band of immortal soldiers. In the follow-up to the original, both Andy, played by Charlize Theron, and newcomers Uma Thurman and Henry Golding join the cast.

Upon its summer 2020 release, the initial film gained significant popularity on Netflix, drawing large numbers of viewers almost immediately.
