Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle Premiere: Vernon Kay & Cameron Diaz’s Blast from the Past!

Vernon Kay recently posted an old picture from the 2003 London premiere of Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, featuring himself with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu.

As the TV host, aged 50, readied himself to chat with Cameron and her acting partner, Jamie Foxx, on BBC Radio 2 about their upcoming movie “Back In Action,” a sense of nostalgia washed over him.

At the debut event of the hit movie, it was Vernon who welcomed Cameron, Lucy, and Drew Barrymore – a trio portraying undercover crime-fighting agents – to the screen.

The second movie, launched in 2000, functioned as its successor. This film was inspired by the original Charlie’s Angels television series from the 1970s.

At the premiere, Vernon donned a striped suit and quipped that he resembled David Dickinson due to his deep tan.

This is a flashback from 2003 when I was hosting the Charlie’s Angels premiere alongside Cameron. Here’s my best David Dickinson impersonation!

It comes after Cameron revealed why she decided to return to acting after a decade long hiatus.

The Holiday actress officially retired from Hollywood in 2018 and her last film was Annie in 2014.

As a die-hard admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement! It seems that fate has brought her back to the limelight, drawn by none other than my hero, Jamie Foxx himself. Together, they’re teaming up for their next action-packed comedy masterpiece!

In an upcoming episode of The Graham Norton Show airing on Friday, Cameron expressed her gratitude by saying, “I’m back, and it’s all thanks to Jamie,” as she candidly acknowledged that returning to the entertainment industry would have been quite foolish not to do so.

The actor shared: “For about a decade, I didn’t engage with anything; I rejected all proposals. Then, I came across this script and considered whether the moment might be right.

If I were to step away from my loved ones for a substantial part of each day, I’d prefer that extraordinary journey be taken alongside the most gifted maestro in the realm of entertainment.

She gratefully acknowledged continuing her career in the film industry by stating: “It’s an honor to create movies, and it’s fortunate that we have the opportunity to do so. Just being given the chance after a ten-year span was astonishing.

Reflecting on those incredible ten years with my family, I found myself pondering: “If I were to let go, to disconnect, and not seize this opportunity, would I truly be wise?” This moment might just be the start of an exciting new chapter, and I am deeply thankful for its presence.

In 2018, Cameron made headlines as she decided to step back from Hollywood to devote more attention to her partner, Benji Madden, who is a 45-year-old musician.

In December 2019, the couple joyfully welcomed their daughter into their family, choosing to keep their parenting experiences largely confidential, particularly since she turned three years old.

Cameron and Jamie will be featured in the upcoming movie “Back In Action,” scheduled to debut on Netflix on the 17th of January.

Despite maintaining a quiet public life, Cameron gained attention in 2019 as she participated in the celebration for Lucy Liu’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star alongside Drew Barrymore and Demi Moore. This event marked her most recent appearance on the red carpet up until now.

In a refreshing twist, the recently released action-comedy, masterfully directed by Seth Gordon at 48 years old, marks a triumphant return for both Jamie and Cameron. Notably, Jamie experienced a stroke in 2023, making this project an inspiring comeback story.
