Charlie Cox teases “nice little cameos” in Daredevil: Born Again

As a die-hard fan who has been following Daredevil since its inception in 2015, I can hardly contain my excitement for Charlie Cox’s tease of “nice little cameos” in the upcoming series, “Daredevil: Born Again.” The prospect of Matt Murdock teaming up with Wilson Fisk/Kingpin to save New York City is already intriguing enough, but the possibility of some familiar faces making an appearance only adds to the anticipation.

Charlie Cox hinted at aspects of the forthcoming “Daredevil: Born Again,” mentioning that there might be a few delightful surprise appearances, or in simpler terms, he suggested that some familiar faces could make an appearance.

In this new series, which is a sort of sequel to the Netflix program, John Cox once again takes on his iconic superhero character. Together with Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin (portrayed by Vincent D’Onofrio), they join forces in an attempt to protect the citizens of New York City.

Before its anticipated premiere on Disney+ in March 2025, Charlie Cox (who first portrayed Matt Murdock in 2015) shared hints about the MCU series, revealing that several familiar characters will make an appearance, along with an enigmatic newcomer.

He shared with Screen Rant that they don’t base their story on comic books. The reason behind this is twofold. Firstly, adhering too strictly to a predetermined plot can make the outcome predictable since most people are familiar with how those stories end.

“You might have spotted some intriguing characters in the leaked D23 trailer that some people have mentioned – I’m just repeating what others have said. Since the trailer has been removed, I won’t be discussing it further.”

“I distinctly recall receiving those scripts, and the character that immediately comes to mind is the one I read before I began working on Daredevil in 2014. That storyline always struck me as exceptionally cool, and the character was incredibly intriguing.”

The interaction between these two characters is quite fascinating. It was genuinely enjoyable, and I can’t wait to see more. Additionally, there are a few delightful, brief appearances by other characters as well. This is what the actor had to say about it.

Besides Cox and D’Onofrio, the series “Daredevil: Born Again” also brings back several familiar faces. Actress Deborah Ann Woll, actors Elden Henson and Wilson Bethel, as well as Ayelet Zurer and Jon Bernthal are all set to reappear in their previous characters’ roles.

Daredevil seasons 1-3 are streaming on Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again is due to premiere in 2025.
