As a Marvel fanatic, I live for the endless theories about what’s coming next, and one question has been really bugging everyone: how will Elden Henson be back in Season 2? It looked pretty definitive when his character, Foggy Nelson, seemingly died at the start of Season 1. But it seems like the most popular fan theory has just been debunked by a very reliable source – someone who’s definitely in the know.
When Henson and Deborah Ann Woll were first announced to appear alongside Courteney Cox in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans were excited. This was especially surprising since initial plans didn’t include them at all. Unfortunately, that happiness didn’t last long. In a shocking and still-disappointing twist, Foggy was killed off by Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) right at the beginning of the series.
Fans have been speculating that Foggy didn’t actually die and would return in a future season. However, it seems that theory has been debunked. Actor Elden Henson (who plays Foggy) recently addressed the idea at a fan event in Mexico, directly stating that Foggy is, in fact, gone.
Daredevil’s heart seemed to stop – it felt like he was gone. I was genuinely upset by that idea, but ultimately, the theory isn’t correct. I really loved the idea, though.
What Does This Mean for Foggy’s ‘Born Again’ Season 2 Role?
Even though Cox claims Foggy is gone, many people don’t trust him. His brief statement has actually convinced some that Foggy is still alive. It’s a Marvel project, after all, and secrets are always kept!
Let’s assume Cox is being truthful and Foggy Nelson is actually gone. That raises the question of how he’ll appear in the upcoming season. The most probable explanations are flashbacks or as a figment of Matt or Karen’s imagination. Although Henson has filmed scenes for the new season, the extent of his role remains a mystery.
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again was originally scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in March 2026. However, Disney has now removed that specific date and is simply saying the show will premiere sometime in 2026. This likely means fans will have to wait longer to learn what happens with Foggy Nelson and see where Daredevil’s story goes next. While we wait, you can revisit the first season of Born Again and the entire Defenders saga—previously available on Netflix—all on Disney+, giving you a chance to re-experience the whole story before the series returns, along with Jessica Jones and potentially other familiar faces from the franchise.
