I’m so excited! Charli XCX just announced her new album, Music, Fashion, Film, which is coming out on July 24th! It’s going to have 11 tracks and last exactly 30 minutes and 5 seconds. The album cover is amazing – it’s a photo by Aidan Zamiri with three icons who inspire her: Martin Scorsese (film), Marc Jacobs (fashion), and John Cale from the Velvet Underground (music). I can’t wait to hear it!

The album’s structure feels intentional and carefully considered. With eleven songs totaling just over thirty minutes, the average length of each track is under three minutes – a deliberate choice. In a time when albums are often stretched out due to streaming, this concise length is a statement about editing as much as the music itself. We’ve already heard two tracks, “SS26,” which provides the album’s title with the lyric “Nothing’s gonna save us, not music, fashion, or film,” and the guitar-driven “Rock Music.” Nine more songs remain unreleased.

The album cover, like the album itself, is thoughtfully designed. Zamiri, who directed Charli XCX’s “Rock Music” video and her A24 mockumentary The Moment, photographed Martin Scorsese, Marc Jacobs, and John Cale together in one shot. Each artist embodies the peak of their field: Scorsese is a highly influential filmmaker, Jacobs is a leading fashion designer with a decades-long impact, and Cale was a founding member of The Velvet Underground and a pioneer in experimental music. Featuring all three on a pop album cover isn’t just about showcasing talent; it’s about Charli XCX aiming high and expressing her artistic vision.

This album is Charli’s seventh studio release and her first since she became a major cultural figure with ‘brat’ in 2024. It comes after she composed the soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s film adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which featured Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi and was released earlier in 2026. Charli has had a significant year crossing over into film – alongside The Moment, she’s appeared in Faces of Death and Erupcja, and will star in I Want Your Sex, opening July 31st, just a week after the album’s release. Music, Fashion, Film truly brings all of her creative worlds together.
