Chappell Roan thanks her security during her Lollapalooza Brazil show hours after her team were accused of threatening Jude Law’s daughter, 11, and leaving her in tears’

Chappell Roan expressed gratitude to her security team while performing at Lollapalooza Brazil on Saturday, following accusations that her team had upset a young fan earlier that day.

Jorginho, a former Chelsea and Arsenal player, shared on Instagram that his wife, Catherine Harding, and her daughter – from a previous relationship with Jude Law – were involved in a concerning incident. According to Jorginho, the 11-year-old girl saw a singer at their hotel and was then approached and threatened by the singer’s bodyguard.

Jorginho publicly criticized a singer, known as the Pink Pony Club songstress, because of how her security guard treated a child, believed to be Ada Law.

While performing in São Paulo, Chappell publicly thanked her team and security personnel to the enthusiastic crowd.

The experience clearly affected Cat’s daughter, who later shared on Instagram that she wouldn’t be attending Chappell’s show.

During her performance, Chappell shared with the audience that this was the 33rd show of her Damsels tour. She expressed gratitude for the tour, saying she wasn’t sure when she’d be able to tour again, making this show particularly special.

However, Cat revealed she and her daughter chose not to attend Chappell’s performance. Instead, she posted a lively video expressing her excitement after seeing Sabrina perform at the festival the previous day.

She captioned the post: ‘This was Ada’s reaction yesterday to arriving to watch @sabrinacarpenter

After the way we were treated, my daughter actually didn’t want to go to the show tonight, which was a little disappointing. But you know what? We turned it into something really special! We ended up having a fantastic girls’ day – we went shopping and then treated ourselves to a lovely dinner. It wasn’t what we’d planned, but it was perfect in its own way.

Jorginho issued a statement on Instagram condemning the hotel security’s behavior after they allegedly threatened the daughter of a fan, known as Cat, who spotted him while he was having breakfast.

He wrote: ‘I went through a very upsetting situation with my family earlier today.’

My wife is attending Lollapalooza in São Paulo. This morning, our daughter woke up thrilled – she even made a sign for an artist she loves, or used to love, performing at the festival.

It’s funny, they ended up at the same hotel as this artist! This morning at breakfast, the artist walked by their table, and my daughter, being a kid, instantly recognized her. She was just so excited and wanted to be absolutely sure it was really her – you know how kids are!

The most frustrating thing was that she didn’t even try to talk to her. She just walked by the singer’s table, glanced to make sure it was really her, smiled, and then returned to her mother. She didn’t say a word or ask for an autograph.

The reaction that followed was far too strong. While my wife and daughter were still eating breakfast, a large security guard approached their table and started speaking to them in a very aggressive way. He accused my daughter of disrespecting and harassing other guests, and told my wife she needed to control her.

I’m honestly baffled by how simply checking if someone is at a table could be considered harassment. To make matters worse, he threatened to complain to the hotel, all while my 11-year-old daughter was incredibly upset and crying. She was really shaken up by the whole thing.

Look, I’ve been around football, and celebrities, and everything that comes with it for ages, okay? I get how things work, I really do. And what people are saying about what happened? It wasn’t anything bad, honestly. It was just a kid being a fan, starstruck, you know? Just a little admiration, that’s all. It’s being blown way out of proportion!

It’s disheartening to see fans treated this way, especially considering how vital they are to everything we’ve built. I hope this situation encourages everyone to think about their actions. No one, and certainly not a child, deserves to experience this.

Jorginho stated emphatically that without fans, the team would be nothing, and argued that the player in question doesn’t deserve the fans’ support.

Chappell Roan’s team didn’t respond to a request for comment from The Daily Mail right away.

Jorginho’s post spread rapidly online, and people quickly shared their opinions about the disagreement.

The story became so well-known that Rio de Janeiro’s mayor, Eduardo Cavaliere, prohibited Roan from performing there.

As a passionate supporter of our city’s cultural scene, I was really disappointed to see Cavaliere announce that, while he’s in charge, Chappel Roan won’t be performing at Todo Mundo in Rio. He even compared it to Shakira not performing there! On a brighter note, he also shared some wonderful news – Frello Jorginho’s child is already a special guest for an event in May, which is just lovely!

Roan has sometimes clashed with her fans, previously expressing on social media that some of their behavior felt unsettling and crossed boundaries.

Around the time she began gaining attention in August 2024, Roan shared a TikTok video stating she wasn’t concerned by the fact that abuse, harassment, and stalking often happen to people with any level of fame.

It’s strange how easily people feel they know someone just from what they see and hear online. And I have the right to reject unwanted or creepy advances, absolutely.

She then shared a detailed post on Instagram, explaining her desire to continue pursuing art for years to come. She also addressed experiencing unwanted physical and social interactions, stating firmly that women are not obligated to anyone’s expectations or demands.

Roan explained that he’s fully ‘on the clock’ whenever he’s performing, in drag, or at a professional event like a work function or interview. Outside of those situations, he considers himself off-duty and not in work mode.

She explained that if people are still questioning her choices given the attention she’s receiving, they should know this: she’s happy with how the project turned out, the positive feelings she has, and the appreciation she’s received. However, she will not tolerate unwanted attention, physical contact, or being followed.

Jorginho, the Arsenal footballer, proposed to singer Harding in 2023 after dating for four years. The romantic proposal involved a violinist, red roses, and candles. They were married last year.

The couple recently appeared together on the reality show Married To The Game, which debuted in February 2024. The show offers a glimpse into the lives of the wives and partners of top Premier League footballers, showing what their lives are like away from the sport.

Catherine has openly discussed the difficulties of blended families, explaining that it’s tough when kids are used to different rules at each parent’s house.

Oh my god, I just have to tell you about this! So, Catherine was only 23 when she met Jude – he was way older, 41! He was over in the Czech Republic filming, and they just…connected. He was really encouraging her music, and they got super close while he was there. It was just magical, honestly!
