As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I can empathize deeply with Chappell Roan’s struggle. Her journey mirrors that of many individuals who have found themselves catapulted into the limelight, grappling with the unexpected challenges and pressures that come with fame.

Chappell Roan has been diagnosed with severe depression.

26-year-old American musician openly discusses her challenges coping with stardom, including contemplating leaving the entertainment sector due to intrusive attention.

Chappell, who attends therapy sessions twice a week to manage her recent fame, confessed that receiving her diagnosis was unexpected since she doesn’t experience the feelings typically associated with sadness.

She shared with The Guardian that she attends therapy sessions twice a week. Last week, she visited a psychiatrist as she expressed her feelings of confusion and uncertainty about her current situation.

Initially, I never thought my condition reflected severe depression due to a lack of persistent sadness. However, upon examination, it appears that I exhibit all the telltale signs of a person grappling with profound depression – symptoms I had unknowingly been experiencing.

Chappell revealed her symptoms include brain fog, forgetfulness and poor focus as well as ‘a very lacklustre viewpoint’.

The performer shared that she believes the rapid shifts in her life might be the root cause of her struggles.

She stated: “I believe the reason is that my entire life has undergone a transformation. Activities I once enjoyed are now accompanied by complications. For instance, if I wish to go thrift shopping, I need to arrange for security and accept that it won’t feel ordinary anymore.

I’d like to know how I can engage in activities such as visiting the park, doing Pilates, and Yoga safely, so that I won’t feel threatened by stalking or harassment.

It comes after Chappell compared fame to ‘an abusive ex-husband’.

In a conversation with The Face magazine, she shared her perspective: “I view fame as analogous to an abusive relationship. The atmosphere of intrusion, online harassment, persistent attention, and public confrontations mirrors that of a troublesome ex-spouse.

‘That’s what it feels like. I didn’t know it would feel this bad.’

Nevertheless, Chappell acknowledged that she continues to cherish the appreciation from her followers, mentioning casually: “People often remark, ‘She’s quite intense,’ and I guess, in a way, I am, but that’s alright.

Rather infrequently do I receive comments like, “Oh my God, you have such a great aura.” This sentiment seems deeply rooted in my childhood, where I’ve always yearned for others to perceive me as a good person and held that belief about myself. Therefore, it carries significant weight when I hear such compliments.

As a devoted admirer, I’ve found myself unable to peruse my DMs anymore due to the overwhelming flood of tears they evoke. Yet, when someone conveys, “Whatever you’re doing, it resonates with me,” I can’t help but feel that no accolade or financial gain could compare to the profound impact of such heartfelt praise.

My primary focus is on ensuring others have the room they need for personal liberty, as I deeply understand and value the importance of freedom myself.

Her recent interview follows an incident from last week’s VMAs red carpet where she responded to a photographer who had shouted inappropriate remarks when she was adjusting her attire. The photographer had said, “Shut the f*** up.

The rising entertainer has earned a reputation for being a complainer, with one fan on X hilariously suggesting she change her name to ‘Chappell Moan.’

In late August she took to TikTok to slam fans who cross her boundaries.

“Could you please respond to my queries – let me clarify quickly: Suppose you come across an unknown woman on the street, would you shout something at her from your car?” she inquired of the web.

She added, ‘Would you bother a woman in public like this? Imagine approaching a stranger and asking for a picture. If she declines politely but firmly, and responds something like, “No, what’s wrong with you?” — would you then become upset with the stranger?’

Roan has openly expressed concerns about the downsides of fame, explicitly stating that she doesn’t believe she should endure undesired attention as her popularity grows.

In simpler terms, Roan stated in her TikTok video that she doesn’t find it surprising when people who are well-known or somewhat famous experience abuse, harassment, stalking, and so on.

Regardless of its commonality, I find myself unmoved by the normality of it. The unconventional aspects associated with my chosen profession or career path hold no significant interest for me either.

‘That does not make it OK, that doesn’t make it normal. That doesn’t mean that I want it, that doesn’t mean that I like it.’
