Chappell Roan now threatens to QUIT fame over unwanted attention: 'Not what I signed up for'

As a die-hard fan, I find myself deeply moved by Chappell Roan’s journey and experiences in the entertainment industry. Her bravery and candor in sharing her struggles are truly inspiring. The anecdote about her airport confrontation is a stark reminder of the dangerous side of fame that many celebrities face but seldom discuss openly.

Chappell Roan expressed that she might leave the entertainment world should it become overly hazardous, recounting a story from an incident at the airport.

In her role as The Face’s latest cover model, the young, up-and-coming pop sensation shared a harrowing story about being harassed by two men at an airport.

She expressed, “At 5:30 in the morning, I stepped out of the car, and there were two individuals with a pile of posters, seemingly not fans, expecting me to sign them. Recognizing they weren’t genuine admirers, I declined. I politely stated, ‘I don’t sign anything at the airport, I apologize.’

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share this incident: A fellow traveler trailed me to the TSA checkpoint, raised his voice, and caused quite a stir. He exclaimed, “It’s about time you show some humility! Just take a look around you – do you comprehend where we are? Let’s not forget your roots!

The celebrity, having just disclosed the reason behind her use of white makeup, confessed, ‘If things should become risky, I may decide to step down.’

She emphasized, ‘It’s dangerous now, and I’m still going. But that part is not what I signed up for.’

And the singer-songwriter described fame as ‘abusive.’

Roan presented a metaphor: ‘The vibe of this — stalking, talking s***t online, [people who] won’t leave you alone, yelling at you in public — is the vibe of an abusive ex-husband.’

She reiterated, ‘That’s what it feels like. I didn’t know it would feel this bad.’

After the chaos at the airport, Chappell admitted to crying in a restroom and sought guidance from fellow singer Lorde (age 27), via text messages.

‘She sent me a list of things I should do [in that situation],’ Roan shared.

The hitmaker behind ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ commented that Lorde, who initially rose to fame at a young age with her hit single ‘Royals’, had actually penned down eight pieces of advice she wished someone would have shared with her during challenging times. She endured some truly tough circumstances, as the singer herself admitted.

Her recent interview follows an incident during the VMAs red carpet last week, where she responded to a photographer who had yelled inappropriate remarks while she was adjusting her clothes. This occurred before she caused some controversy.

The rising entertainer has earned a reputation for being a complainer, with one fan on X hilariously suggesting she change her name to ‘Chappell Moan.’

In late August she took to TikTok to slam fans who cross her boundaries.

Instead of saying “she asked the internet,” you could say “she posed this question to online users.”

She went on to ask, ‘Would it be acceptable for you to bother her in public? Imagine approaching a stranger and asking, “May I take a picture with you?” only for her to respond, “No, what’s wrong with you?” – and then becoming angry towards this unknown woman?’

Roan has openly criticized the drawbacks of fame, refusing to accept unsolicited attention as her popularity grows, instead making it public.

In simpler terms, Roan expressed in her TikTok video that she doesn’t accept or tolerate abuse, harassment, stalking, or any form of craziness as a common aspect of being famous or somewhat famous. She strongly disagrees with the idea that such behavior is an inherent part of the profession she has chosen.

‘That does not make it OK, that doesn’t make it normal. That doesn’t mean that I want it, that doesn’t mean that I like it.’
