Chappell Roan blasted by fans again for saying she’s ‘frustrated’ people are only now taking her seriously

In my humble opinion, it is truly captivating to witness the journey of young artists like Greta Chappell as they navigate through their personal and professional lives. Her courage in publicly acknowledging her sexuality and embracing it in her own unique way is commendable. It’s refreshing to see someone who is comfortable with who they are, yet doesn’t feel the need to make it the center of every conversation.

In a recent open conversation, Chappell Roan expressed her disappointment that it’s only now, after years in the artistic field, that people are finally giving her the recognition she deserves.

In a recent interview, the lead singer of The Pink Pony Club, aged 26 (who stirred controversy by criticizing fans requesting photographs), made her remarks. This interview was featured in a cover article that was published on Tuesday.

She conveyed her frustration by saying, “It’s really annoying that people are only starting to take me seriously now,” as if to say, “Well, ‘Hey there! I’ve already been doing this for a while now, and it’s only now that you’re noticing.’

The star expressed to Rolling Stone that a part of them wishes they wouldn’t achieve another success, as it would mean people would no longer anticipate anything more from them.

As a devotee, I can attest that music holds an unparalleled place in my heart. It’s not just a job for me; it’s a lifelong dream come true. And sometimes, the fear creeps in, wondering if this incredible experience will continue, which, admittedly, can be a tad unsettling.

Yet again, some spectators expressed dissatisfaction and swiftly moved to X to voice their opinions, with one writing, ‘She just seems to be complaining all the time.’

Another typed, ‘I am tired of hearing about this woman all she does is complain,’ while one shared, ‘Girl, can you enjoy for a sec? You complaining about everything is kinda annoying.’

User A posted, ‘Are you enjoying your popularity, young lady?’, while User B replied, ‘Patience is key with fame, my dear, try to relax.’

A fan wrote, ‘She just complains all the time, oh my goodness!’, while another commented, ‘Could she please stop making herself look bad.’

Others wrote, ‘One thing about her is she’s gonna complain about her job,’ as well as, ‘She should be thankful to her fans instead that she is getting the fame and getting recognized.’

Nonetheless, certain enthusiasts stood up for Chappell on X, one of them remarking, “Chappell Roan’s feelings of frustration are completely relatable. It can indeed be challenging when your dedication goes unacknowledged until much later.

In essence, it’s saying: “That’s how the music business often works – when an artist becomes popular, many people quickly join the trend.

‘After spending countless years honing her craft, Chappell Roan’s talent is finally being recognized, yet people seem to claim they’ve just discovered her. This is a familiar scenario.’

As a committed fan, I’d like to share that the star has candidly discussed navigating the whirlwind of her swift success after the launch of her album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess – an achievement worthy of note as it secured the number two position on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

Roan acknowledged that he had been gaining nearly 100,000 followers per day. Initially, he found it hard to accept this fact.

‘They would literally show me some stats and the only thing I could do is say, “No, no, no. It’s not like that.” I couldn’t say, “I am gaining success.”‘

In her conversation with Rolling Stone, she shared her feelings about fans and stated, “I don’t wish to become a recluse like agoraphobia. This seems to be the case for many of my contemporaries. It appears that every artist finds themselves in the same boat.

‘Everyone is uncomfortable with fans. Some people just have more patience. I f***ing don’t.’

Last month in August, the songstress shared a rant on TikTok as she slammed ‘weird’ fans.

She asked me to respond to her questions – could you please answer them for a moment. Let’s imagine you see a stranger woman on the street, would you shout something at her from your car?

‘Would you harass her in public? Would you go up to a random lady and say, “Can I take a photo with you?” and she says, “No, what the f***?” And then you get mad at this random lady?’

The Good Luck, Babe! artist put it this way: ‘Is it a problem for you if she declines your time, as she has her own schedule?’ they asked. ‘Would you invade her privacy by harassing her family, stalking her, or scrutinizing her life to the point of bullying her online?’

‘Is it safe to say you wouldn’t be able to judge whether this woman is good or bad since neither of you are acquainted. Moreover, would you blindly accept anything written about her on the internet as accurate?’

As a proponent of individuality and self-discovery, let me remind you that we are all unique individuals on our personal journeys. For a moment, consider the significance of your uniqueness and mine in this grand tapestry of life. This was the thought-provoking sentiment shared by the performer in the clip.

Later on, Chappell clarified her stance, stating that she wouldn’t tolerate ‘stalking’ and ‘harassment’ being considered as usual fan conduct.

I find it troubling when such behaviors as abuse, harassment, stalking, or any form of mistreatment are considered common practice towards individuals, regardless of their fame level.

She stated, ‘Even though it’s typical within my profession, the fact that such unconventional conduct is associated with my job or career doesn’t concern me in the least.’

‘That does not make it okay that doesn’t make it normal. That doesn’t mean that I want it, that doesn’t mean that I like it…’

Roan stated that she didn’t care at all if others considered her as ‘unconcerned’ or ‘selfish’ when she declined requests for a photo, time, or a hug. She found such behavior to be unusual and strange, rather than typical.

During her conversation with Interview Magazine recently, she openly shared that she wasn’t particularly concerned about achieving success in the music world.

At some point, she expressed, “Now that I have a charting album and song, my career isn’t any more significant to me. In fact, it feels like, ‘You all missed the point of what truly matters.’

‘A chart is so fleeting. Everyone leaves the charts. I’m just like, “This is giving valedictorian.”‘

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as: “You know, just like every student here, I too will graduate. Being the valedictorian might seem significant, but in this moment, it feels almost secondary. It’s strange, isn’t it? We’re all graduating, and soon everyone will be moving on. So, while I may hold that title, it feels a bit less important in the grand scheme of things.

In the same Rolling Stone interview, the singer opened up about her struggles with mental health and the benefits she’s experienced from therapy sessions.

As a devoted admirer, I came to understand that my current life isn’t sustainable. I find myself trapped in an emotional abyss, overwhelmed by despair and a profound sense of aimlessness that pushes me to the brink of contemplating self-destruction.

‘I just got my s*** together…I would not have been able to handle any of this even a year ago today. It would’ve just been too much.’

This year, it was made public that Roan identifies as gay, and she expressed, “It’s not mandatory to openly declare your sexuality. You can quietly embrace it if you prefer.

‘It’s like, look, I love being gay. I just don’t want to talk about it every second of every day.’

Chappell also briefly discussed a new love interest who is ‘completely outside the industry.’

She’s incredibly great and very confident, as she casually mentioned, “There’s no need for any tension; we can simply enjoy being friends if that suits you.

Roan expressed, “I feel as if I’m running haphazardly, like a headless chicken. I find myself exclaiming, ‘Wait, I can’t get married!’ This seems to be my current state of confusion.

On the cover of Rolling Stone, the talented singer dazzled while donning a long-sleeve, pastel pink top from the brand Collina Strada.

The Good Luck, Babe! performer added a shiny black hat from Maximilian Raynor.

In my world of style and beauty, I always ensure to amp up my look when it’s time for the spotlight. This includes applying several coats of mascara to my lashes for that defined, voluminous effect, along with a sharp line of black eyeliner to accentuate my eyes and add a touch of drama.

Instead of adding a strong, smoky blue shadow, a deep, hazy blue shade was incorporated. Meanwhile, a radiant, orange-tinted glow was applied to the cheekbones. Lastly, a glossy, reddish-orange lip color was chosen for a final accent.

For the recent interview, she wore several fashionable outfits, and also had her picture taken for intimate, black-and-white close-ups.

While donning a Versace jacket, and sporting shorter hair, Chappell gazed towards the camera.

In a different picture, it appears that Roan was not wearing a top while casually leaning on a substantial statue, which sported striking eyeliner too.

Chappell opted for vibrant, yellow pants from Charles Jeffrey Lover Boy as well as colorful, striped boots from Ariel of Jersey.
