Chappell Roan Announces Release Date for Upcoming Country Single “The Giver”

After several weeks of hinting at her forthcoming country venture, the recently awarded Grammy winner, Chappell Roan, has finally unveiled the launch date for her upcoming single.

On Instagram, the singer publicly announced her new song and shared its creation process with her followers. She wrote this song in collaboration with her regular partner, Dan Nigro. In her post, Roan expressed her excitement about venturing into country music, saying she’s always cherished it deeply. Growing up, country tunes filled her school bus rides and surrounded her at bonfires, grocery stores, and karaoke bars. Some fans have wondered if this means a full-blown country album is coming – to which Roan responded ambiguously, hinting that she’s currently creating songs that bring her joy and fun. The Giver, she described as a blend of country music with a touch of her unique style, adding, “I hope the classic country divas will continue leading their genre while I twirl around and offer a little gay yodel for you all.

Under the title “The Giver,” Chappell Roan first showcased the track during a performance on Saturday Night Live back in November 2024. The artist offered a sneak peek of her country song, keeping fans intrigued for months by placing billboards throughout the U.S., each displaying a phone number that would play snippets of the tune. Gaining recognition last year with her single “Good Luck, Babe!”, Roan is maintaining the momentum from her 2023 debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which propelled her to fame. Chappell Roan’s new country single “The Giver” will be released on March 13 at 8 p.m. ET.
