Dan Levy, the creator of Schitt’s Creek, has a new comedy series called Big Mistakes now available on Netflix, and it’s already getting a lot of buzz from fans.
I’m so excited about this new show! It’s an eight-episode series and everyone’s calling it totally crazy and hilarious. Basically, it’s about two siblings who are really not cut out for a life of crime, but they get forced into it when someone blackmails them. Sounds like a wild ride!
Taylor Ortega, known for her role in the Netflix series The Four Seasons, and Laurie Metcalf, famous for The Big Bang Theory and Hacks, will star alongside Levy as members of the central family in Big Mistakes.

I was so hyped when this show was announced! Levy said he’s really excited to bring this crazy family story to life with Netflix, and he’s super happy with the cast and crew they’re putting together. He even said Taylor Ortega is going to be a big star, and he’s always dreamed of working with Laurie Metcalf – he gets to call her ‘mom’ in the show! He can’t wait for everyone to see it, and honestly, neither can I!
The cast also includes Jack Innanen (known for Adults), Boran Kuzum (Thank You, Next), Abby Quinn (Better Call Saul), and Elizabeth Perkins (The Housemaid).

Critics have generally reacted positively to Big Mistakes, with The Telegraph giving it a perfect five-star rating and calling it both hilariously funny and a gripping crime drama.
According to The Guardian, the acting in Big Mistakes is excellent, though the show doesn’t quite reach the level of a true success. Time magazine described it as a heartwarming family comedy that feels forced into the crime genre.
Variety praised Big Mistake‘s “perfect cast”, but said the show was “lacking” elsewhere.

The show isn’t just a thrilling ride – it’s a messy, realistic look at family, what people want to achieve, and the bravery it takes to be different. While the actors are fantastic, a complicated storyline unfortunately weakens the show’s potential for truly clever humor, according to the publication.
Dan Levy is famous for co-creating and writing the Emmy-winning sitcom Schitt’s Creek with his father, Eugene Levy. The show was a huge success and continues to be popular with viewers.
Daniel Levy is back on Netflix with a new series, Big Mistakes, created alongside Rachel Sennott. This follows his 2023 film Good Grief, which he both wrote and starred in. Digital Spy gave Good Grief three stars, calling it a moving display of Levy’s abilities.
