Channing Tatum reveals what it was really like working with Hugh Jackman as he discusses Deadpool and Wolverine cameo

As an ardent fan who has witnessed the magic of cinema unfold over the years, I can wholeheartedly say that reading about the camaraderie between Channing Tatum and Hugh Jackman on the sets of Deadpool and Wolverine has left me utterly enchanted. The way these two titans of Hollywood share a mutual respect and admiration for each other is truly heartwarming, and it’s not every day you get to see such genuine emotions in the world of celebrity.

As a die-hard admirer, I’ve been fortunate enough to delve into the genuine experiences shared by Channing Tatum about collaborating with the legendary Hugh Jackman on the movie sets of Deadpool and Wolverine.

44-year-old The Blink Twice found working alongside the Australian heartthrob, 55, and observing him in his superhero costume on set to be a profoundly meaningful, or ‘existential,’ experience.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Channing, who refers to himself as a ‘comic book enthusiast’, expressed feeling overwhelmed by the sheer joy of standing beside a superhero character he has adored for years.

Channing expressed that his sentiment isn’t a criticism towards Wesley Snipes, who undeniably holds the title of ‘Godfather’, but rather Hugh Jackman will forever remain my Marvel father figure for me.

‘For me, no other character compares to Wolverine. Just seeing him beside me felt like a profound, almost spiritual encounter.’

He added: ‘I was freaking out, I was losing my mind and the fact that he’s just such a class act and is so good at what he does, and he still cares man.’

Later on, Channing pointed out that once Hugh hangs up his Wolverine suit permanently after 25 years, ‘no one will surpass it.’

Besides Channing Tatum, another coworker of Hugh’s has paid a touching tribute, with Ryan Reynolds, known for his role in Deadpool, lately causing Hugh to shed tears.

On Monday, Ryan, who is 47 years old, posted a collection of pictures on Instagram that told the story of his relationship with Hugh and included a lengthy caption explaining their first encounter.

He also revealed how their Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration came about.

‘On August 14th, 2022, @thehughjackman stopped his car to call me,’ Ryan began.

‘He’d been having a crappy week… he’d had the flu, two flat tires and some random idiot egged his house. But what happened next, happened fast. He told me he wanted to bring The Wolverine back.’

Ryan went on to reveal the excitement he felt the first time he saw Hugh in the Wolverine suit.

As Hugh strode onto the set, resplendent in that suit… it was clear to all that something extraordinary was unfolding. He recollected thinking that everything would turn out just fine.

Ryan elaborated on their initial encounter, marking the start of a 17-year bond between them. This relationship with Hugh evolved into something special for Ryan, whom he referred to as his cherished friend and preferred actor.

‘I met him in Sydney around 2007,’ Ryan continued.

Previously, he had already achieved fame as a movie star, while I came on set as a secondary character. Joining the film crew halfway through shooting is somewhat like beginning at a new school. On that day, I arrived in quite a state of anxiety.

Ryan mentioned that Hugh helped him and the entire team relax, a sentiment he’s never forgotten.

On film sets, there’s often an unsettling distribution of power, but what I recall about him was his genuine respect and admiration for each crew member, as Ryan put it.

‘He made a case that the term “filmmaker” isn’t just for people with their name on the poster.’

Ryan continued the expansive tribute, gushing over Hugh and referring to him as THE X-Man.

“Hugh is not just considerate and elegant, but extraordinarily so. He’d go to great lengths for those he cares about, even those he’s only recently met.”

‘Not only did Hugh fulfill the wishes of Wolverine enthusiasts in the movie Deadpool & Wolverine, but he also brought my own dreams to life. He truly embodies the essence of an extraordinary X-Man.’

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can honestly say that the touching tribute did not go unnoticed by me. In fact, it moved me so much that I felt compelled to chime in, sharing that Ryan’s heartfelt words brought a few tears to my eyes.

‘And now I’m crying again,’ Hugh wrote.
