As a lifelong comic book enthusiast who has been following Gambit since I was knee-high to a Cajun, let me tell you, Channing Tatum‘s recent cameo as everyone’s favorite playing card-flinging mutant in Deadpool & Wolverine has got my heart racing faster than a Louisiana bayou speedboat! The idea of a solo Gambit movie has been a dream of mine since I first saw those sultry eyes and that charming Southern drawl.
Deadpool & Wolverine spoilers follow.
In response to his surprise appearance in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Channing Tatum has spoken about the possibility of a future Gambit film.
1. In a recent box office hit, the actor astoundingly portrayed the mutant Gambit from the X-Men. Now, he’s expressed his aspirations for a standalone film featuring his Marvel Cinematic Universe character, Tatum.
He expressed optimism to Variety during the premiere of his film, Blink Twice, saying, “I truly hope that’s the case.” Essentially, he conveyed, “May your wishes reach God. Bring it to reality, my colleague. I ask this kindly.”

The idea of a Gambit movie isn’t new, though. Tatum was already in the process of developing the standalone movie with his producing partner, Reid Carolin.
Although the project had been ongoing for four years, it was ultimately abandoned in 2019 following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Yet, the actor remains committed to portraying the character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Indeed, I’ve expressed my desire for this many times before, over the past decade. Now, it lies with Bob Iger and Kevin Feige. I can only hope for the best.” Tatum stated.

Besides Gambit, another surprise appearance graced the screen in Deadpool & Wolverine. The unexpected guest was none other than Henry Cavill, starring as a fun twist on Wolverine, affectionately named ‘Cavillerine’ by Deadpool (played by Ryan Reynolds).
It turned out that the enigmatic Lady Deadpool character was actually Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds’ wife. Even though her face was always concealed behind a mask, viewers could recognize her based on her voice. Eventually, she was listed among the credits.
Lady Deadpool was accompanied by an impressive ensemble of Deadpool counterparts, which included Headpool (voiced by Nathan Fillion), Cowboy Deadpool (portrayed by Matthew McConaughey), Kidpool (performed by Inez Reynolds) and Babypool (played by Olin Reynolds).
Deadpool & Wolverine is now playing in cinemas.
