Channel Seven star announces devastating double family loss: ‘We are heartbroken’

Kylie Gillies, a host on The Morning Show, is grieving the loss of both of her dogs, who sadly passed away within two months of each other.

The Channel Seven personality shared the sad news on Instagram Tuesday that her French bulldogs, Tilly and Pepe, had died, saying she was ‘heartbroken’.

‘It’s with heavy hearts we share some devastating news. Our beloved Frenchie bulldog babies have gone and we are heartbroken,’ the 58-year-old began the post.

We loved sharing their fun adventures with you – everything from their playful mischief to Pepe’s funny sounds, and all the sweet moments and cuddles. Now, those are just cherished memories.

Oh, sweet Tilly. She was such a gentle and loving cat, a cozy little one-eyed pirate princess! Even though we weren’t her original family, she quickly became our precious baby girl.

Kylie went on to say that both had passed away from underlying health issues.

Tilly died peacefully in my arms. She was fourteen years old, and her body had been weakening, as the vet had warned us. We think she held on until we got back from our trip, then she quietly passed away.

Sweet Pepe was almost fourteen, a constantly cheerful and talkative pup who always acted like the boss of the house. He was a tough little guy, but also a big softie! We’ve had him since he was just ten weeks old, and he grew up with our other dogs, Gus and Archie.

She explained that Pepe’s illness developed very rapidly, leaving them with no good choices. He died peacefully with all four of them present.

The heartbroken owner said her home feels much quieter since her puppies died. The family is still adjusting to life without their furry friends, but they find comfort in knowing the pups were together when they passed.

Our son and daughter passed away just eight weeks apart – it was a heartbreakingly short time between their losses. They’re now resting together, as they always were in life, and will remain together forever.

She concluded the post by writing: ‘We appreciate their affection and playful kisses, and we will always love them.’

Kylie accompanied the moving words with pictures of her much-loved bulldogs.

People quickly shared messages of support for the TV personality after she announced her loss.

Krissy Marsh, star of The Real Housewives of Sydney, shared her condolences, saying she was deeply saddened by the loss. She offered a hopeful message, suggesting that a new baby could bring comfort and healing, sharing that it worked for her personally – especially considering she’s a devoted owner of five dogs!

Dr. Chris Brown shared a heartfelt message with Kylie Gillies, saying the joyful expressions in the photos are a clear sign of the constant love her family showed. He expressed hope that she is doing alright during this difficult time.

Larry Emdur shared his condolences with Kylie Gillies, saying he knew how much her ‘beautiful babies’ meant to her and her family.

Sam Mac sent Kylie his best wishes, saying he understands how she’s feeling and knows how important her family is to her. He shared his love and encouraged her to be proud of the life she’s built for them, adding that focusing on gratitude helped him through tough times. He signed off with a kiss.

‘I’m so sorry. Sending you so much love xxx,’ singer Ricki-Lee Coulter wrote.
