The mystery drama “The Light in the Hall,” which airs on Channel 4 and S4C, has revealed its fresh lineup of actors as it gears up for another season.
2022 saw the debut of a show, filmed in both Welsh and English, featuring Alexandra Roach and Iwan Rheon in its first season. This series revolves around a young journalist who delves into the mystery surrounding the vanishing of her friend.
Approximately two years after its initial airing on Channel 4, the network has revealed details about Season 2, titled “Still Waters“. This new season will feature a completely different cast, with Sian Reese-Williams, Mark Lewis-Jones, Nia Roberts, and Robert Glenister taking on the main roles.
According to the logline, the narrative will revisit the town of Llanemlyn, where a contentious proposal to enlarge the reservoir has sparked renewed conflicts. Journalist Caryl Huws (Reese-Williams) finds herself deeply drawn into this intriguing storyline.
As I delve into this gripping narrative, I find myself ensnared in an intricate tapestry of personal deception, hidden family truths, and ominous enigmas. The synopsis tantalizingly hints at the controversial incarceration of a ’90s protester, arousing my curiosity and anticipation.
Gwenllian Gravelle, head of film and drama at S4C, announced the return of the world of Llanemlyn with a more intriguing, intense, and captivating mystery than before. Boasting an impressive cast and a tale that hooks audiences from the get-go, this is an adventure that viewers of S4C won’t want to skip.
Producer Nora Ostler Spiteri expressed delight in working alongside a gifted team of actors and technicians, and she was pleased to be back in Llandovery to create this world. She also extended her gratitude to Gravelle for their heartfelt encouragement.
Still Waters” will make its debut on S4C on the 14th of September, but its release date on Channel 4 is still undetermined. Since the initial season was broadcasted in the UK eight months following its Welsh premiere, we might have to wait a while longer for it.
