Channel 10 announces major change for The Project in 2025: ‘Wonder how long it will last?’
2025 can’t come soon enough! As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement knowing that Channel 10 is planning to share every episode of The Project on YouTube. Count me in for endless hours of laughter, insights, and the latest news updates from my favorite hosts. Bring it on, 2025!
The producers announced a significant update by posting about it on their social media platforms, providing a link to their official YouTube channel for more details.
‘New for 2025: You can watch The Project in full on You Tube,’ the network announcement said.
The entirety of Monday’s episode, which included parts about the Golden Globes and stand-up comic Akmal Saleh, was viewed on the platform.
The well-established news discussion show frequently shares clips and segments from its episodes on popular social media platforms like X and Instagram, making a significant impact online.
One commentator on the industry blog Media Spy remarked, “It appears 10 people are currently posting episodes on YouTube… I’m curious how long this trend will continue!
Simultaneously, another user on the same discussion thread raised doubts about uploading full episodes, considering potential issues with a platform that tightly regulates copyright infringement and unauthorized content distribution.
They commented that it’s intriguing to see the entire content now on YouTube, one might assume they frequently encounter issues regarding footage and music when producing such material.
The decision to publicly release a full episode follows The Project, which has been under fire for appearing overly progressive, as its ratings have declined.
In July last year, a representative from Network 10 assured that the highly-rated show wouldn’t be leaving our screens anytime soon.
They informed Daily Mail Australia that the Project continues to be a vital component of our content offerings, and you can count on it staying here.
The panel show has also undergone an audience decline ever since changing up its format.
Struggles with ratings occur concurrently as The Project faces mounting criticisms for its perceived political lean towards the left, along with the exits of prominent personalities such as Carrie Bickmore, Peter Helliar, and Lisa Wilkinson.
In 2023, the program returned with an all-new lineup featuring Sarah Harris, Sam Taunton, Michael Hing, and veteran host Waleed Aly.
However, more recent information indicates that Harris may be finding it challenging due to the demanding weekly journey between Sydney and Melbourne, as the redesigned program’s lineup seems to be falling short in generating enthusiasm.
Sources close to Channel 10 have shared with Daily Mail Australia that the novelty of commuting to Melbourne, where “The Project” is filmed from Sunday to Thursday, has started to fade a bit for Harris, who is a single mother of two young kids.
Previously, the host from Studio 10 switched to The Project following the unexpected exits of Bickmore, Helliar, and Wilkinson towards the end of 2022.
During the latest episode of The Project, which aired on Monday night, comedian Akmal Saleh recounted a story about a recent encounter he had with entertainment icon Richard Wilkins.
On Monday, the 60-year-old individual made an appearance on The Project, where he shared a humorous story about Wilsonthe confusing him with Anh Do, the presenter of ABC’s Anh’s Brush with Fame.
‘Recently I was on one of those morning shows, the Today show maybe,’ he began his story.
He mentioned that it might have been a segment on Today, possibly featuring one of their regular guests such as Richard Wilkins, the entertainment correspondent, which caused some amusement.
‘He approaches me, saying, “Hey, buddy, I’m a big fan of yours. I really enjoy the TV program you host.” I asked which show he was referring to.’
Saleh remarked, “When you depict a famous figure,” before expressing surprise about being likened to the well-known Vietnamese comedian turned renowned artist.
‘We’re not the same race,’ he said to uproarious laughter.
