Chael Sonnen declares Sean O’Malley ‘biggest star’ in MMA over Conor McGregor

Chael Sonnen believes that Sean O’Malley is currently the biggest star in the UFC, not Conor McGregor. According to him, “Red Panty Night” is still relevant, but McGregor isn’t active in the sport and isn’t even licensed to fight at the moment. This means that if McGregor wanted to compete today, he couldn’t. Sonnen was simply pointing out that those currently participating in the UFC hold more claim to the sport than McGregor. Interestingly, Georges St-Pierre and Khabib Nurmagomedov have attended more UFC events over the past year than McGregor.

Sonnen isn’t wrong. Conor isn’t the UFC’s biggest star right now because he’s not fighting but I actually think Alex Pereira is a bigger draw than O’Malley is. But O’Malley is a much bigger personality.

Shara Bullet has a new fight

At UFC 308, scheduled for October 26th at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Shara “Bullet” Magomedov has been confirmed to have a fight against Armen Petrosyan.

For Shara, this upcoming bout marks his third fight. His previous performances didn’t quite live up to the hype surrounding him. Let’s hope that we’ll witness an electrifying knockout from him, one that he’s been known for, but outside of the UFC.

Caio Borralho wants Israel Adesanya if Dricus Du Plessis isn’t available

Caio Borralho has expressed a desire to take on Israel Adesanya in a fight, should Dricus Du Plessis not be available. In his words, “Much like how I challenged Jared [Cormier], with the utmost respect, I believe there isn’t another fighter that Adesanya should square off against right now.” He further added, “If you examine the Top 8 of the division, I think he has fought everyone except Imavov and Brendan Allen, who are set to face each other. Strickland, Whittaker, Vettori, DDP, Jared, all these opponents, he has already faced. Therefore, I believe that, at this point, my fight with him could be the only viable option.”

There’s no doubt that Borralho is the next rising star in the middleweight division but I think it’s a bit early for him to be calling for the champion or the former champion. I think he needs one more fight and then he can call out the champ/former champion.
