Celine Dion shares rare photo of her three sons in tribute to her beloved late husband René Angélil on the ninth anniversary of his death

Celine Dion recently shared an uncommon picture featuring her three boys, looking back on the ninth year since the passing of her spouse, René Angélil.

On a recent Wednesday, the 56-year-old singer posted an intimate Instagram photo featuring herself with her sons René-Charles (age 23) and the 14-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy.

The photo, captured during Christmas time, features a joyful Celine Dion coordinating with her sons in their cream-colored outfits, enjoying some downtime at their residence in Las Vegas.

She expressed her disbelief in a post that it’s been nine years since René has been away, writing in the caption. “Every single day, we sense your spirit, RC, Eddy, and I,” she added.

‘You’ve always been my most ardent supporter, my fellow traveler, and the one who brought out the best in me. I pay tribute to you and you remain deeply cherished… We continue to love you.’

In 2016, Celine’s husband passed away from throat cancer after her career had been affected by her stiff-person syndrome.)

Céline’s first performed for René in 1980 when she was just 12 years old.

The audition was a success, and he agreed to become the budding singer’s manager.

By 1987, their connection had blossomed into a romantic one, with Dion being 19 at the time. Seven years later, they officially got married.

Celine’s professional progress has recently stalled due to her revelation in December 2022 about being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.

Over prolonged periods, this condition makes muscles grow progressively rigid and tight within a person, potentially resulting in persistent discomfort and limited flexibility.

That muscle tension can also make it difficult for a singer to properly perform. 

Previously, she shared with Vogue France that she considers herself lucky for having a robust support network and the means to stay updated on her health matters.

Above everything, it’s the affection from my family, especially my kids, as well as the adoration of my followers, and the backing of my team that I value most, according to Celine.

Individuals experiencing Spastic Paraplegia (SP) might not always have access to skilled medical professionals or advanced treatment options due to lack of resources or fortune.

‘I possess the resources, and it’s a blessing. Moreover, I carry an inner power. I am confident that no obstacle can hinder my progress.’

During the interview, Celine expressed that she hasn’t conquered the illness, implying that it remains inside her and will do so permanently.

As a devoted admirer, I fervently yearn for the moment when we uncover a miraculous solution, a remedy born from scientific investigation, to conquer this affliction. Yet, in the meantime, I find myself compelled to adapt and thrive. Five days a week, I immerse myself in an athletic, physical, and vocal regimen of therapy – a testament to my unyielding resolve.

I find myself constantly working on various aspects of my body – from my toes to my knees, calves, fingers, and even my singing voice. I need to accept this reality and stop doubting myself. It’s time to move forward.
