Celine Dion announces comeback concerts: ‘I’m so ready to do this’

Céline Dion is officially coming back to the stage.

The singer revealed on Instagram that she’s planning to perform again this fall with 10 shows at the Paris La Défense Arena. She previously had to cancel her 2022 North American tour because of muscle spasms. She later learned she had stiff-person syndrome, a neurological autoimmune condition that made it impossible for her to perform.

The concert announcement follows recent buzz among fans in Paris. They noticed posters appearing around the city that hinted at the event, featuring lyrics from songs like “Power of Love” and “Pour Que tu M’aimes Encore.”

Dion, who turned 58 on Monday, called this news “the best gift” of her life.

Dion shared their excitement and readiness, saying they feel good and strong. While admitting to a little nervousness, they expressed immense gratitude to everyone and eagerly anticipated seeing them again.

Although Celine Dion recently performed at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony and an Elie Saab fashion show in Saudi Arabia, she hasn’t held her own concert since wrapping up her Courage World Tour in 2020. In a recent video, she expressed gratitude to her fans for their support during what she called a very challenging period.

Celine Dion will give two concerts each week – on Wednesdays and Saturdays – starting September 12th and running through October 14th. Frédéric Longuépée, the president of La Défense Arena, stated that hosting Dion is a significant achievement for the arena, which first opened in 2017.

Presale tickets are available for fans to register for until April 2nd, and tickets will be available to the general public starting April 10th.

In her 2024 documentary, “I Am: Celine Dion,” Celine Dion opened up about her struggle with stiff-person syndrome. She explained that the condition causes strain on her vocal cords, making singing very difficult. She had been experiencing symptoms of SPS for 17 years before receiving a formal diagnosis in 2022.

While SPS has no known cure, Dion did not lose motivation to continue performing.

“If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl, but I won’t stop,” Dion said.
