Filming is wrapping up on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as the cast and crew prepare for the holidays. This marks the end of production for the show’s fifth and final season, with one more actor finishing their work on the series.
Paramount+ has ordered a final, six-episode season of the hit show Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Season 4 finished filming in the summer of 2025 and is set to launch on Paramount+ in 2026, with the fifth and final season arriving in 2027.
Celia Rose Gooding announced on Instagram that she’s finished filming her scenes on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. She shared a photo of herself singing “Keep Us Connected” – a song from Star Trek‘s first musical episode – and posing with her character Ensign Uhura’s Starfleet badge, marking the end of her time on the show. You can see her post below!

I just saw the cutest thing on Celia’s Instagram Story! She posted a funny video of herself celebrating finishing up work on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – and she did it right on the set of the Starship Enterprise’s bridge! It was such a fun way to mark the end of filming.
Celia Rose Gooding took on the iconic role of Nyota Uhura, previously made famous by Nichelle Nichols in the original Star Trek series. The first three seasons of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds showed Uhura’s journey from a hesitant Starfleet trainee to a capable Ensign, ultimately becoming the communications officer aboard the USS Enterprise.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds gave Nyota Uhura a more developed and complex character than the original series. The show explored her difficult past and introduced her first official romantic interest, Beto Ortegas (played by Mynor Luken), who is the brother of her close friend, Lieutenant Erica Ortegas (Melissa Navia).

Celia Rose Gooding, a Grammy winner, truly shone in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The show gave her a chance to display her incredible vocal ability, especially in the musical episode where she delivered a stunning performance. She also proved her versatility as an actress by portraying different versions of the character Uhura.
There are still two more seasons and 16 episodes planned for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Viewers can look forward to seeing Uhura’s character continue to develop before the show ends and the command of the Starship Enterprise shifts from Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) to Captain James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley).
