Celebs Go Dating’s Stephen Webb takes a brutal swipe at Lauryn Goodman as she tears up AGAIN – leaving fans concerned
In reflecting on this situation, it seems to me that our friend here has found herself in quite the tangled web. Navigating friendship, feelings, and relationships can be tricky business, especially when they intertwine as they did for her in her early twenties.
Stephen Webb took a brutal swipe at Lauryn Goodman during Thursday’s episode of Celebs Go Dating.
Earlier, the 33-year-old woman cried over her relationship with Kyle Walker following public criticism that labeled her as a ‘homewrecker’, after it became known that he had fathered two children with her.
The Manchester City star, who shares four young children with his wife Annie Kilner, also has, 13-month-old Kinara and, Kairo, four, with Lauryn.
Following their initial meeting with the entire Celeb’s Dating Group, Stephen from Gogglebox inquired about Lauryn’s intentions and preferences within the dating agency.
In a playful manner, he joked about her affair by saying: “I guess you have a certain type, Lauren. Anything but married?”
Supporters of the show are debating whether the character who has two children might find herself in the dating sphere too soon. Some believe Stephen’s remark was unnecessary.
A viewer commented to X that Stephen’s remark to Lauryn was entirely inappropriate, given that she is currently healing. This individual also expressed the opinion that Stephen should clean his mouth as he appears to be a disrespectful and unrefined individual.
Other comments included: “She seems fragile. Regardless of feelings towards her, it doesn’t seem appropriate for her to be on television, particularly in this role”; “She’s still emotional. It appears questionable that Lauren was allowed to participate in Celebs Go Dating.”
Previously, Stephen has found himself in hot water due to his inappropriate remarks, most recently being criticized for insensitive comments towards two of his dates last week, leading to a public backlash. On this week’s episode, he was visibly emotional following some stern criticism, ultimately resulting in tears on Monday.
He faced huge backlash after choosing 22-year-old footballer Ben for his first date, being branded ‘creepy’ and inappropriate’.
And he left Dean Muir, 39, less than impressed after he called him ‘boring’ to his face after he confirmed he wouldn’t have sex with someone after the first date.
Apart from that, Stephen additionally engaged in flirtatious conversation, inquiring about the driving instructor’s personal tastes in private settings and if he had ever crossed professional boundaries by engaging in intimate activities with his students during car rides.
After receiving feedback from his dates, Dean harshly rated him a 0 out of 10, criticizing the TV personality’s behavior, expressing that he was left feeling embarrassed.
Dating advisor Paul C. Brunson chastised Stephen for being ‘self-centered, blunt, and narrow-minded,’ and warned him: ‘Your path to success will remain elusive if you persist on this course.’
After receiving the feedback, the hairstylist began crying and expressed her feelings by saying, “I’m completely confused, and it feels like my entire identity has been shattered. I unintentionally gave off a creepy vibe, I guess.”
However, those viewing from home showed little empathy, suggesting he required frank advice and was perhaps shedding insincere tears. Many also questioned whether similar remarks towards a woman would have led to harsher criticism.
In her opening, Lauryn clarified a common misconception about herself: ‘People might assume I’m infamous for my passionate love life, that I’m a homewrecker or chase after married men. However, this popular belief is actually quite the opposite of who I truly am.’
With tears streaming down her face, she admitted to the investigators that she’d been under immense pressure due to heavy criticism, and she firmly maintained that Kyle wasn’t with his spouse when their children were born.
She mentioned that she’s been acquainted with Kyle since her twenties, and during that period, they were friends. At that point, she understood that he had feelings for her, yet she was aware he had a partner at the time.
In 2019, he was maintaining a clear distinction between his life and hers; after she asked him to leave, they were no longer together. So, I figured, “Why not?”
During a teaser clip of the reality dating show, Lauryn, also revealed to the agents how Kyle reacted to her pregnancy news.
She admitted that Kyle was taken aback when he initially learned she was pregnant, as he had returned to the woman with whom he fathered his children.
She revealed: ‘I think it was more shocked because he’d gone back then with his girlfriend and the mother of his children.’
