After completing his first triathlon on the French Riviera, Tommy Fury said he’d given it his all, despite only having trained for ten days.
Although Tommy Fury celebrated completing the event with his girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague, it turned out he didn’t actually finish. Data from his bike splits showed he wasn’t recorded past the 48km mark.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe how intense this race was! It was a brutal three-parter – first a 2km swim, then an 80km bike ride, and THEN, as if that wasn’t enough, an 18km run! Sadly, my idol just couldn’t quite finish the whole thing, and it absolutely broke my heart. Still, just *attempting* it is amazing, right?
Many celebrities, including Katie Price, Jade Goody, and Georgia Harrison, have participated in fitness challenges over the years.
Similar to Tommy, the contestants have experienced negative reactions and issues, including one racer withdrawing and another being required to return their medal.
Honestly, it’s just frustrating to see! Some people are making excuses about not putting in the work, basically admitting they didn’t train right, and then others are getting hurt – taking wrong turns and ending up sidelined. It’s like they’re setting themselves up for disaster, and people are quick to jump to conclusions about ‘cheating’ when really, it just seems like a lack of dedication or a bit of bad luck!

Katie Price
In 2018, Katie Price didn’t finish the London Marathon. Instead, she spent time having lunch with her mother, Amy, who was seriously ill, while other runners completed the 26.2-mile race.
The TV star was raising money for the British Lung Foundation when a knee injury forced her to stop running. Three hours into the race, police carried her large lung-shaped costume across the finish line.
People realized Katie had withdrawn from the competition when they spotted her having tea with her mother. Katie had initially participated to raise awareness and funds for her mother’s battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a serious lung disease.
I was so relieved to hear Katie had withdrawn, and Amy immediately shared the most supportive message. She really stood by Katie’s decision and explained how incredibly proud she is of her for bringing so much attention to lung health. It’s amazing to see a mother defend her daughter like that, and it means a lot knowing Katie’s efforts are making a difference.
Amy shared how incredibly proud she is of her daughter, Katie, for participating in the London Marathon. Even though Katie didn’t finish the race, Amy emphasized that the significant awareness she raised for the British Lung Foundation made the effort worthwhile.
Katie responded to criticism about her training by explaining that she did prepare for the run and gave it her all, even while wearing bulky clothing. She added that her mother’s approval was the most important thing to her.
Katie was tracked as being in the race between 10 and 15 kilometers, but then disappeared from the live tracking system. Later, around 6 p.m., she posted on Instagram Stories showing herself enjoying ice cream with her family.
According to reports, the celebrity told the audience, ‘I can’t go on, I want to stop now.’ She was expected to finish around 6:44pm if she’d kept up her walking speed.
One fan reported seeing Katie relaxing with afternoon tea, even though other contestants like Chris Evans and Rochelle Humes hadn’t finished yet.
Georgia Harrison

Georgia Harrison finished the London Marathon in four hours in 2019, but her achievement sparked some debate.
She confessed she hadn’t been training much, which led to fans accusing her of cheating. However, her representative quickly dismissed those claims.
The Daily Mail reported that the TV personality suffered a tear in her left gluteus muscle about six miles into the 26.3-mile race. She didn’t realize the source of the pain until she saw a physiotherapist the following day.
On Sunday, while running the London Marathon, Georgia felt a pain in her glutes about ten miles into the race, according to a source.
As she ran, her pain increased, but she still managed to complete the marathon in four hours. Afterwards, she noticed her left glute was swollen and red.
Today, she visited her physiotherapist and learned she had a sudden tear in her buttock muscle.
‘The physio said he’s amazed she was able to finish the race with that sort of injury.’
After the event, Georgia shared with her Instagram followers that her legs and knees were really sore. She said she needed a few days to recover, but it was absolutely worth the effort.
Someone asked Georgia for marathon training tips, and she jokingly confessed she’s in no shape to give advice. She admitted to spending most of the month drinking and isn’t currently fit enough to offer guidance.
I definitely didn’t train enough. I only managed one long run, and I arrived back home at three in the morning the night before, so I was exhausted. I don’t know much about training plans because I didn’t follow one myself.
James Argent’s sister Natasha

In 2016, London Marathon organizers looked into Natasha Argent’s finish time after she completed the 26.2-mile race in less than four hours.
She completed the final 20 kilometers in 48 minutes, but a wrong turn led to her missing 11 of the 24 required checkpoints and sparked accusations of cheating.
Organizers confirmed that she gave back her medal and will no longer be allowed to participate in future London Marathons.
Natasha denied cheating in the race, explaining that she left the course because she was having a panic attack.
Natasha told OK! Magazine that she briefly wandered off the running route while trying to regain her composure, but eventually found her way back to finish the race with the other runners, though she was disoriented.
She explained that she ran for about a mile before finding a race marshal. She told him she’d gotten lost and asked for directions back to the correct route, as she hadn’t seen her parents who were waiting for her at Canary Wharf. She was truly lost and worried.
Natasha said the official told her there was ‘no way’ she could go back.
She explained that the crowd’s support felt undeserved and was very upsetting. She also apologized to anyone she may have offended.
I was eagerly checking the official London Marathon website for results, and that’s when I – and other fans following Natasha – noticed some really odd stats popping up. It was a bit of a surprise to see them there!
I was absolutely thrilled when they announced she finished the course in under four hours! But then I saw the photos… my heart just broke. She was clearly pushing herself so hard, you could see she was really struggling to lift her feet as she went down the Mall. It was amazing she finished, but seeing her like that… it was just heartbreaking, honestly.
The race results revealed she finished the last 20 kilometers in less than an hour, which works out to an average pace of under four minutes per mile. This is remarkably fast – even faster than Mo Farah’s!
It also seemed she hadn’t registered at several electronic checkpoints, which made people wonder about the path she followed.
A few sharp-eyed people on social media noticed some inconsistencies, and the accusations of cheating quickly spread online, with many users joining in.
Mo Farah

Even Mo Farah, a world-class marathon runner, had a tough time at the 2018 London Marathon when he struggled to collect his water bottles during the race, leading to some criticism.
Around the 28-minute mark, at the 10km drinks station, he accidentally grabbed the wrong water bottle. He immediately threw it away when he realized his mistake.
I saw him yelling at the marshals on motorcycles just a few minutes later, and then he walked down the road to talk to another one. It was really strange to witness!
Around 57 minutes into the race, at the 20km drinks station, Mo briefly lost five seconds when he had to run back for his water bottle after becoming disoriented.
When quizzed about the incident later he appeared to blame the volunteers for not helping him.
He found the drink station confusing. He was at table four and went to collect his drink, but initially the staff seemed more interested in taking photos than serving him. They were helpful in the end, though.
I asked the motorcyclists to ask the staff for some help instead of taking photos. I wasn’t trying to cause a fuss, I was just thirsty and needed to get what I needed.
Okay, so I just found out the *most* amazing thing about Mo! Apparently, his water bottles weren’t just filled with water – they had this super-secret mix of carbs and salt from this company called Maurten! His coach, Gary Lough, actually told the Daily Mail, and honestly, it just proves how much thought and science goes into everything he does. It’s brilliant! I need to find out more about this Maurten stuff…
Tommy Fury

Tommy Fury, brother of boxing star Tyson Fury, completed his first triathlon last weekend on the French Riviera.
On Wednesday, reports surfaced indicating a problem with Tyson Fury’s completion of the event. According to an article by Marathon Investigation, data from his bike splits suggest he didn’t finish – the records show no activity beyond the 48km mark.
These splits were recorded every 6km along the route.
Actually, the official results on Sportstats showed that Tommy didn’t finish the race, marked with a ‘DNF’ next to his name. He was one of 93 racers who didn’t complete the course.
Tri247.com discovered the planned road closures were reduced in length due to a change in the bike course for non-professional racers. Instead of the originally announced route, these racers completed six laps of approximately 13 kilometers each.
It quickly became clear that several inexperienced cyclists, including Tommy, wouldn’t be able to complete the bike portion of the race before the roads were reopened to traffic.
The Professional Triathletes Organisation explained that, because of restrictions on road closures in France, Tommy and several other athletes participating in the 100km amateur race couldn’t finish the cycling portion within the allotted time.
Because we’re committed to helping the sport grow and attracting new participants, we wanted to provide them with the most complete experience we could.
‘So they were all given the opportunity to do the 18km run and cross the finish line.’
Many of his Instagram followers feel he wasn’t honest about completing the triathlon as he claimed.
‘Missed the swim cut off, and bike cut off?’ one user said. ‘Just be honest.’
One commenter wrote, ‘This is really embarrassing.’ They explained that officials had already confirmed the person didn’t qualify, and that being honest would earn more respect than pretending otherwise in the world of social media.
