Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge charged with driving under the influencer of cocaine in Sydney

Chef Colin Fassnidge is facing charges after a roadside drug test in Sydney’s eastern suburbs revealed he had cocaine in his system while driving. He’s been accused of driving under the influence.

On November 8th, around 3:20 PM, the 52-year-old My Kitchen Rules judge was pulled over by police while driving a grey ute on Malabar Road in South Maroubra for a drug and alcohol test.

According to The Daily Telegraph, a drug test conducted by traffic police on a person named Fassnidge reportedly showed a positive result for cocaine.

Another test reportedly came back positive, and the Irish chef was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

Fassnidge will face Waverley Court on January 28.

Daily Mail has reached out to Fassnidge’s representatives for further comment.

This follows Colin Fassnidge’s 2016 interview with Sunday Style, where he discussed the challenges of balancing work and family life.

The father of two, married to Jane Hyland since 2006, told the publication that it’s challenging to live with a chef, as they tend to burn out rapidly.

‘It’s a hard life, it’s the highest divorce, drugs, drink, suicide industry,’ he said.

‘Living with a chef is very hard, it’s not good. We are the worst people in the world.’

I’ve been following Colin for a while now, and even though he’s acknowledged things aren’t always what they appear, he shared something really touching. He and his wife have vowed to keep any disagreements or issues within their own home – basically, they’re committed to not letting personal drama spill out publicly. It’s a really admirable stance, honestly.

He explained their workplace rule was to leave personal issues at the door, but admitted that didn’t always work out in practice.

Oh my gosh, I just love learning about how they met! Apparently, it was back in 2000, and Colin Fassnidge was already making waves as a chef at EST in Sydney – such a legendary place! And get this, his now-wife was working there too, as an assistant manager. It was fate, I tell you, fate! They were destined to be together, working side-by-side in that incredible kitchen. It’s just… perfect!

They got married on January 8, 2006, in the city where their relationship began, with a beautiful view of Watson’s Bay.

The couple got married surrounded by loved ones, including family and friends who traveled all the way from Ireland to Australia for the occasion.

Fassnidge and Hyland went on to welcome two daughters into the world—Lily, 16, and Maeve, 14.

Manuel Fassnidge is famous for being on television, and he’s been a judge on the show My Kitchen Rules since 2013.

I absolutely love watching him on Better Homes and Gardens with Clarissa Feildel! He’s such a great part of the show.

The chef previously hosted Kitchen Nightmares Australia in 2022.
