Celebrity Big Brother Ends with Record Low Ratings Despite Star-Studded Cast!
The television ratings for Celebrity Big Brother hit an all-time low during its finale, failing to make it into ITV’s top five shows of the evening, even though the lineup boasted several well-known figures.
On Friday evening, the legendary reality show concluded, and it was Jack P. Shepherd who took home the victory, while Danny Beard ended up in second place.
In the 2025 season of Celebrity Big Brother, there was plenty of excitement, but it unfortunately recorded the lowest viewership for a finale compared to previous seasons, especially after Mickey Rourke’s involvement created quite a stir before his departure from the house.
During last night’s broadcast, the viewership hit a high of 1.9 million people, while the total average was 1.6 million. This represents a decrease compared to last year when the peak was 2 million viewers and the overall average stood at 1.7 million.
On ITV1, Celebrity Big Brother came in at the seventh spot among the top ten programs of the evening, with Coronation Street and its robust lineup outperforming it.
The hit soap topped the leaderboard with a peak of 3.1million viewers and an average of 2.9million.

After it, there was Emmerdale, ITV News Central, a Political Campaign Program, ITV Evening News, and The Chase. Each of these programs had better ratings than the final episode of the reality show.
The show suffered another setback as the premiere night attracted an average of just 2.71 million live audiences.
Last year’s debut of the revamped celebrity version of the reality show had approximately a million more viewers compared to this year’s premiere, marking its initial run on ITV.
In a significant triumph, the Big Brother brand has now exceeded an impressive 100 million streams on ITV. The latest series alone has garnered more than 20 million streams on ITVX, representing an uptick compared to the inaugural season.
Despite not focusing on ratings, Coronation Street actor Jack, aged 37, was visibly surprised when hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best disclosed that he had garnered the highest number of public votes in the live finale held on Friday evening.
In a first-time conversation exclusively shared with AJ and Will, Jack expressed his astonishment over his win and admitted that he hadn’t anticipated it. He also confessed that he had correctly predicted JoJo as the likely winner.
Speaking about his transformation from the most frequently nominated contestant to the champion, the soap actor confessed: ‘I suspected that perhaps some might find me irritating and struggle to understand me, but it seems I grew on people towards the end.’
Prior to his interview, the Drag Race star Danny left the famous house following his unveiling as the runner-up.

He became emotionally expressive when discussing how much he cherished his stay at the house, feeling free and authentic, without the need for wigs or makeup.
JoJo, famed from Dance Moms, was obviously thrilled when she placed third in the ITV competition, earning herself a spot on the podium.
To AJ and Will, she confided that she had feared everyone would dislike her and expressed immense gratitude for placing third.
Regarding the letter she received from home, JoJo confessed that throughout her stay in the house, it seemed like she was entirely immersed within its walls. However, upon receiving the letter, her mind momentarily escaped the house, leaving her feeling strangely detached.
She mentioned: ‘Being far from familiar surroundings and the intense publicity surrounding my life, I’ve consistently observed comments others make about me and experienced a sense of pressure.’
1. It’s impossible for you to conceal yourself there, as you’re exposing your most exposed state, yet I find myself petrified at the thought of observing you. [More concise and direct, while maintaining the original sentiment]
2. You can’t stay hidden in that place; you’re showing all your weaknesses, but now I’m too afraid to see what unfolds. [Similar to the first option, but with slightly different word choice for variety.]

Moments ago, with thunderous applause echoing, comedian and actress Donna Preston, aged 38, exited the premises in fourth position, as the crowd chanted her name fervently.
It was shared with Donna that she had the least number of nominations among all housemates – only two during the entire season.
In response to queries about her unusual justification for the nomination, the celebrity confessed with a touch of mischief, “Well, I suppose I might have been a bit impish. The truth is, I don’t have any negative comments about anyone.
Speaking candidly about her strong bond with Danny Beard, she playfully remarked, “The moment I met Danny, I felt an instant connection. I knew he would be like a security blanket for me, and we were destined to become great friends.
Chris and Chesney Hawkes were evicted from the house in sixth and fifth place.
In simpler terms, during the live finale, the Love Island participant learned from AJ and Will that he would be the initial contestant to depart the house.
Moments afterward, it turned out that the renowned pop star, who is 53 years old and known for his countless hits, ended up in fifth position, trailing behind Chris.
During their interview with him, Chesney struggled to hold back tears as he said, “I’m fighting hard not to cry because all I can see is my wife.

During the entire night, the voting process repeatedly paused to eliminate the housemate with the least votes, after which viewers were granted fresh votes on five separate occasions.
Or more casually:
Throughout the long night, the vote was constantly paused to send home the housemate who had the least support. Every time, viewers were handed extra votes.
On Thursday evening, the final six competitors shared a heartfelt farewell meal together, reminiscing about their experiences within the house, followed by a lively dance party.
During their talks, JoJo referred to Chris as an essential piece in her life that she hadn’t realized was absent. Meanwhile, Chris labeled JoJo as his significant other.
Meanwhile, Danny said it was ‘amazing’ to conquer the experience as himself and as ‘Daniel’.
Following an exhilarating live finale, spectators swarmed to X to share their reactions about Jack being declared the winner, posting: “Sipping tea throughout the entire season and claiming victory. Remarkable. #CBBUK #CBB #CelebrityBigBrother.
‘What do you mean Danny didn’t win…#cbb #cbbuk.’
‘He was the most real of them all. I’m so pleased for him.’
Winning Celebrity Big Brother for someone known for their dry wit and love for tea, a quintessentially British trait, seems oddly nationalistic #CBBUK.
2025 is when we’ll see the next season of Big Brother on TV! If you’re eager to dive into an extraordinary social exploration, don’t hesitate to submit your application to join this upcoming series.
